About the workplace

The Finance Department belongs to the Municipal Executive Board's administration. You will work together with a group of dedicated employees who, under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, focus on providing qualified support to all the municipality's administrations. We are now looking for an employee with good experience as a controller who wants to work with the Child and Education Administration.

Your responsibilities

You will be part of the municipality's finance department as well as part of the administration you work with. You will be a close support to the management of the Child and Education Administration in its systematic quality work. You will also work on overarching processes together with your colleagues in the finance department. There is a strong focus on strategic financial issues regarding governance, management, and planning of operations. The Child and Education Administration is the largest administration in the municipality and includes, in addition to school activities, meal service, and cultural activities.

The mission includes developing and improving financial support for the management and unit managers. You are responsible for assisting the management in planning, analyzing, and developing the administration's activities from a financial perspective to create long-term financial stability. You are the administration's financial expert and work together with another economist professionally, proactively, and expertly in the field of economics.

You are a link between the central finance department and the administration you support. You report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications

University education with a focus on economics or other education relevant to the assignment.
Good ability and solid experience in qualified financial work in a role as a controller at the management level.
Experience working in a politically governed organization.
You have an easy understanding of systems and can create reports and are used to working digitally.

It is a merit if you also have experience from a similar role in another municipality.

Have worked in a larger complex organization with a breadth of financial issues at a strategic and tactical level. You are curious, patient, and enjoy understanding how the details contribute to the whole. You are confident in your role and can work independently as you will have a great responsibility for planning and follow-up of the financial process in the Child and Education Administration.

You enjoy being part of influencing, streamlining, and coordinating in an innovative way. You can talk about economics with non-economists and analyze results.
