About Beyond Gravity

Beyond Gravity is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. We are not the "traditional" space company - but a unique blend of flexibility, speed, and innovation. We meet "new space" with decades of industry knowledge and a successful history of 100% mission success. Our team of over 1800 experts across 14 locations in 7 countries is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible. Not only by developing key products for satellites, launchers, and lithography, but also by contributing to improving life on Earth.

Your Mission

The space industry is expanding with a significant increase in launches and funding. This new space race is driven by both government and private actors pushing the boundaries of space exploration and technology. This thesis project aims to redesign a critical component to enhance its performance, reliability, and manufacturability. The component is crucial for the structural integrity and functionality of our Payload Adapter System.

The goals are:

• Analyzing the current design and evaluating new requirements.

• Conducting conceptual studies and evaluating potential designs.

• Detailed design and analysis of the most promising concept.

Expected outcome:

• A new and improved design that meets the new requirements and enhances performance in terms of cost and functionality.

The work is a thesis project for a university education of 15 credits and lasts for 10 weeks for two students. We aim to start the project in March 2025.

Your Story

We are looking for someone who is passionate about collaboration and innovation - someone who thrives best when the team performs together and who enjoys thinking big. With curiosity and a willingness to share ideas, you see every project as an opportunity to learn, grow, and create future solutions together with us.

We see that you:

• Are in the third year of your university studies in mechanical engineering.

• Are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Why Beyond Gravity?

• Work in a growing high-tech company with career opportunities both locally and internationally.

• You will be part of a dedicated team with the ambition to innovate space.

• In Linköping, we have a down-to-earth family culture, experienced and competent staff, and a diverse management team.

• We offer a hybrid workplace with flexibility and independence, as well as a brand new factory and office since the fall of 2024 with its own gym.
