Job Advertisement: Airfield Platoon

You will work at Uppland Air Force Wing, F16, and be part of the 52nd Air Base Company’s 525th Airfield Platoon. The Airfield Platoon is responsible for the airbase's ramp and readiness service. The work ranges from certain administrative tasks to performing ramp and readiness service on various types of aircraft. The position requires you to carry out regular qualification practice at another unit. The job requires good physical fitness and there is an opportunity for training during working hours.
Main Responsibilities
- Readiness service for JAS 39 C/D.
- Service of FM transport aircraft and helicopters at Uppsala Airport.
- Service of FM combat aircraft units at Uppsala Airport.
- Service of air ambulance flights.
- De-icing of aircraft and helicopters.
- Conducting basic terminal services.
- Operation and maintenance of assigned base equipment.
- Support to visiting units during exercises and/or readiness.
- Conducting qualification practice for JAS39C/D at another unit.
- The position means that you will be part of the Air Force's operational units.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed and approved military service, GU, GMU.
- Driver's license at least class B.

We are looking for someone who is proactive and finds solutions to help develop our operations. You should be able to work independently and in a team. You must be able to adhere to the regulations governing readiness and aircraft maintenance services and be quality-conscious.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability as the position places high demands on judgment and integrity.
MERITORIOUS
- Certification according to European aviation regulations for aircraft technician category A or B1 (aircraft/gas turbine).
- Completed military service, GU, GMU as an assistant mechanic for Fpl 39 C/D.
- Approved grades in Swedish 2 (B), Mathematics 2 (B) to be eligible for specialist officer training.
- Experience from working in an aircraft maintenance company.
- Good language skills in English.
- Driver's license class BE or equivalent military driving license.

Other
Employment type: Fixed-term employment. The employment is governed by the Swedish Armed Forces' agreement for group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSS/K). It may begin with a 6-month probationary period that transitions into an employment of up to 8 years.
Employment rate: Full-time.

Uppland Air Force Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala Garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and surveillance of Uppsala Airport as well as training conscripts in several different positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs combat aircraft in the air and maintains constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and constitutes an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is facing.
