Logistics Assistant at 51st Basic Training Company

We are looking for you who work as a soldier or group leader and are ready to take on significant responsibility in an independent position.

About the Unit

The 51st Basic Training Company is the company at F 16 responsible for and training conscripts for various positions within the Air Force and F 16 Uppland Air Wing. The company is under the command of the 161st Air Base Battalion and is stationed at Uppsala Garrison.

Main Responsibilities

As a logistics assistant, you will be part of the company staff and participate in the preparation, execution, and follow-up of training and exercises. You will work very closely with the company quartermaster and the company’s technical manager, being part of the team that supplies, transports, and supports the company in technical services. In defined areas, you will lead platoon work teams regarding recovery, maintenance, and supply. In daily routine service, you will handle ordering, receiving, and delivering materials and supplies, follow-up and support regarding infrastructure issues, and simpler janitorial services. You will represent the staff and support managers in matters concerning work environment and operational safety.

Qualifications

  • GSS/K with at least 1 year of service
  • Driving license B

Personal Qualities

You are responsible and meticulous in solving tasks. You work well independently and can structure your own work time. You have good collaboration skills and work well in small teams. You can see longer processes and can independently adapt your tasks based on a larger goal. You are not afraid to actively share ideas and challenge working methods within your defined work area. You are encouraged to apply even if you do not consider yourself qualified for the tasks; you will receive the training and learning time required for the position. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

  • Military driver’s license for heavy truck
  • Group commander training
  • Experience in supply management
  • FMFG 1000 and/or ADR
  • Experience in systematic work environment efforts (e.g., safety representative, BVKF assistant)
  • Good knowledge of Uppsala Garrison

Employment type: Fixed-term employment according to GSS/K agreement, which may start with a 6-month probationary period.

The Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala Garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and surveillance of Uppsala Airport as well as training conscripts in various positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs combat aircraft in the air and maintains constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and is an important part of the growth period the Air Force is facing.
