Deputy Platoon Leader at 51st Basic Training Company
We are looking for someone to work as a Deputy Platoon Leader at the 51st Basic Training Company at F 16, Uppland Air Force Wing.
About the Company
The 51st Basic Training Company is the company at F 16 responsible for training conscripts for various positions within the Air Force and F 16 Uppland Air Force Wing. The company is under the 161st Air Base Battalion and is based at Uppsala Garrison.
Main Responsibilities
The position of Deputy Platoon Leader means that as part of a platoon team, you will plan and conduct training for conscripts. You will develop in your role as an instructor in the Armed Forces and have the opportunity to lead specific training such as combat training and position training. You will be responsible for the platoon's equipment and for monitoring its maintenance. The position of Deputy Platoon Leader also means that you will take over the Platoon Leader's duties in their absence. The role includes both personnel and employer responsibilities. The position is varied and will take place both at the unit and at training and shooting ranges. You will develop in your role as a leader in the Armed Forces, and the position also includes troop leadership in the role.
Qualifications
- Specialist Officer OR6/7
- Driving License B

You are responsible and have a strong initiative. You strive to develop as an instructor and enjoy teaching. You easily connect and collaborate with others and have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. You are not afraid to work under high workloads at times and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You need to be a role model for employees and conscripts and apply the Armed Forces' core values. Personal suitability will be of great importance.
Meritorious
- Previous experience in leadership positions in the Armed Forces.
- Driver's license for light terrain vehicles
- Instructor for machine guns 90 & 58, anti-tank weapon m/86
- Grenade throwing instructor
- Test leader for physical combat readiness
- Close combat instructor
- Security guard instructor

The Uppland Air Force Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala Garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and surveillance of Uppsala Airport as well as training conscripts in various positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs combat aircraft in the air and manages the continuous surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and is an important part of the growth period the Air Force is undergoing.
