Then you might be the one we are looking for to join our operational team as a program coordinator focusing on children and youth at Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad in Kristianstad.

Erikshjälpen is a children's rights organization with a non-profit second-hand operation. In our work in Sweden, we run Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad in several locations. Here, Erikshjälpen aims to create opportunities for personal development, social mobilization, and participation in community development together with children, young people, and their parents. By strengthening children's and young people's own dreams, motivations, and abilities, we create hope for the future and conditions for long-term positive change. The work is carried out in close collaboration with municipal services, businesses, and other civil society organizations. We are currently looking for two operational program coordinators for the team in Kristianstad. One program coordinator will be responsible for working with children and youth, while the other will focus on our project Parent Power. The advertisement and application for the position focusing on Parent Power can be found via another advertisement on our website, while this advertisement concerns the position focusing on children and youth. We welcome your application!

Job Responsibilities

As a program coordinator, you will be part of our team at Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad in Kristianstad, where you will lead the operational activities together with two other program coordinators in close collaboration with a labor market coordinator. In this role, you and your colleagues will meet children, young people, and parents as you jointly take responsibility for driving the operational activities in Charlottesborg in Kristianstad. Your main tasks will be to plan, develop, and lead recurring activities and events together with children and young people, contributing to personal development, community, and area development. Currently, the activities include several recurring events such as activity clubs, girls' and boys' groups, study support, family activities with crafts, creative holiday activities, and excursions. Together with the local school, we also have a reading project. We organize various community events, such as “Challandagen” and spontaneous activities based on requests from residents.

In addition to the above, you will work with the team to:

  • Regularly attend schools in the area
  • Communicate and build relationships with parents of participants
  • Contribute to the development of Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad together with the unit manager and a local steering group.
  • Collaborate on social initiatives with other actors (schools, municipalities, civil society, businesses)
  • Follow up, evaluate, and report both verbally and in writing
  • Account for costs based on the project budget
  • Recruit and supervise volunteers

Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad is still in a startup phase, and we look forward to further developing the work while taking advantage of employees' initiatives and contacts. There is a high demand for sports, especially football activities.

You are used to meeting people in various life situations and contexts and feel comfortable working in a multicultural context. You have the ability to create trust, participation, and engagement. As a person, you are self-driven, responsible, and enjoy working goal-oriented and structured to develop the organization and drive processes forward.

You have:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in areas such as health, pedagogy, social work, human rights, or equivalent work experience that the employer deems relevant
  • Experience in social work with people in vulnerable life situations
  • Experience working with and building relationships with children and young people

Erikshjälpen is a children's rights organization with a non-profit second-hand operation. Together we have a common vision; A changed world where children's dreams come to life. Locally and globally, we work to strengthen and help children. The surplus from the second-hand operation contributes, along with generous donations, to enabling our efforts for children to go to school, be well, and feel safe. The work training in our second-hand stores also fosters hope for children with parents who are outside the labor market, and the circular sales provide climate hope for future generations. Erikshjälpen exists for the children. And the world they dream of.
