About the Position
We are looking for someone who wants an interesting, varied, and rewarding job. As a planning officer, you will actively work as an emergency handler with the unit's readiness tasks throughout the conflict spectrum, from peace through crisis to war, together with our combat units. Your work will also involve extensive collaboration within the framework of defense planning with authorities, regions, county administrative boards, municipalities, and various companies that support the Armed Forces and total defense.
The Position
Is located within the Helicopter Wing's Implementation Department (A3) in Linköping. The department is responsible for the management of unit production within the Helicopter Wing and leads the wing's missions within ongoing operations. The Implementation Department consists of about 40 people divided into four sections, where you will be part of the planning section.
Your Task
Is to collaborate with and coordinate the wing's incoming units and, if necessary, participate in cooperation with other units and civilian authorities. There are also planning tasks on short, medium, and long-term, primarily within the framework of the wing's tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate, handle, and prepare cases with all combat units and entities within the Helicopter Wing, as well as with other military units and civilian authorities, regions, municipalities, and companies.
- Handle cases and support civil society within the framework of total defense planning.
- Be able to represent the unit in total defense issues against civil society.
- Prepare materials for decisions by the unit commander or higher staffs.
- Archive documents and records for combat units and defense planning.
- Participate in the work of war planning and combat unit evaluation.
Qualifications
- Specialist officer OR6-OR8.
- Good ability to express oneself in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
- Driver's license B.
Meritorious
- Experience in defense planning at national and/or international staff.
- Experience in staff service.
- Education/experience regarding civil society's crisis management at various levels.
- Experience in the preparation of reports and orders.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is calm, attentive, and accommodating in their interactions with others.
This position places high demands on the ability to work both independently and in fixed or temporarily assembled workgroups. As a person, you are outgoing and enjoy having many contact points both internally and externally. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Other desirable qualities include stress resistance, structure, and an aptitude for solving emerging issues. You need to be security-conscious, responsible, and have a well-developed sense of order.
You also need to have the ability to drive projects independently related to the unit's production goals. You see the whole picture and how individual details contribute to it, as the position involves being able to interpret rules and regulations and transfer them to the Helicopter Wing's regulations and operations.

The Armed Forces' Helicopter Wing is a unit with both land and sea operational orientation that can operate in missions in Sweden and internationally.
Helicopter support is requested by many. For example, for personnel, material, or medical transports, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing therefore often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.
Our operations span across Sweden, the breadth of tasks, and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide variation in work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airport and Linköping garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
