Part-time Firefighters Wanted at the Fire Station in Norrahammar

Your New Job

As a part-time firefighter, you will help create safety in the community. You will be dispatched to various emergency situations such as fires, traffic accidents, drownings, and other urgent situations where lives may be at risk.

You will receive alerts via a pager that you carry during your readiness. During part of your readiness, you will participate in various exercises according to a developed training schedule, as well as equipment maintenance and paid physical training.

The position entails a fixed schedule with readiness around the clock every fourth week and requires that you can leave your regular job when the alarm goes off.

We Are Looking For You

• You have a high school education or equivalent.
• No prior knowledge of firefighting or medical care is required.
• For the position, you must understand and speak Swedish.
• Driver's license minimum B. Presentation of driver's license category C within 18 months from the date of employment. We provide financial support for obtaining this license.
• You live and work near the fire station or have the ability to work remotely so that you can reach the fire station within a time set by the municipality during your readiness.
• Approval certificate from your regular employer allowing you to leave the workplace for alarms, training, and exercises. The certificate must be available upon request.

Our mission is to contribute to a safe and secure society from a broad perspective with high demands to meet community expectations. The Fire Service is responsible for fire protection issues, operational interventions, coordinating the municipality's crime prevention efforts, crisis preparedness, and accident protection. Good to Know

Fully healthy with good physical ability, able to swim, and prepared to undergo tests with satisfactory results according to our testing program.

We apply mandatory alcohol and drug testing upon hiring operational firefighting personnel according to a secured process conducted by the Municipal Health Service of Jönköping Municipality.

Start date in the summer of 2025. Selection of applications may occur continuously during the application period.
