JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a part-time firefighter, you will typically be on call every third week and must be reachable 24/7 via a pager. Drills are conducted regularly, 1-2 times per on-call week in the evenings.

If you are one of the candidates we are looking for, we will contact you to provide more information about the various tests that selected applicants will undergo, including:

• Fitness and health tests on a treadmill as well as job-related tests.
• Swimming test
• Practical tests

After employment, you will receive the necessary training to work as a part-time firefighter. The training lasts a total of 7 weeks and is divided into blocks in collaboration with MSB's schools, funded by the rescue service.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be employed as a part-time firefighter, you must have a permanent employment (full-time job).

You should live and work within 5-8 minutes of the fire station, depending on your location.

If you are a self-employed individual and want to make a difference as a part-time firefighter, you can also apply.

Your main employer must approve your work as a part-time firefighter.

The important job of a part-time firefighter requires good physical fitness and swimming ability.

If you are hired and do not yet have a C driver's license, you must obtain it within 18 months from the start of employment; the rescue service will cover part of the costs.
