Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people? At Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket (SSHL), you become part of a unique boarding school environment where young people from all over the world live, study, and develop together. Here, the work is about more than structure and responsibility; it is about relationships, presence, and trust.

SSHL is a boarding school with roots dating back to the 1920s and currently has approximately 550 students from over 45 countries. We offer both Swedish and international curricula (High School and IB programs). Our ambition is to continuously work for the best interests of the students.

Job Responsibilities

As a house parent, you are a significant adult figure in the students' daily lives. You are there for the conversations, the challenges, and the small moments that make a big difference.

You are part of a team responsible for a student home with approximately 25 to 30 young people aged 15 to 19. Together with colleagues, you create a safe and stable environment where students can develop socially and personally. The work is varied and meaningful, ranging from everyday conversations to handling situations that require calm, judgment, and decisiveness. Working hours vary and include days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with longer periods of consecutive time off in between and during school holidays.

  • has the ability to think analytically and values quality

You understand that relationships are the foundation of everything and act accordingly.

Qualifications

  • University/college education in fields such as behavioral sciences, social work, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in psychosocial work with young people
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English (additional languages are an advantage)
  • Experience from an international environment is a plus

Employment Terms

This is a permanent position, working 80–100%, with the possibility of taking extra shifts to reach full-time hours if starting part-time.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, and a clean criminal record extract is required before employment. Interviews are conducted continuously throughout the application period. The application deadline is August 16, 2026, and the start date is by agreement.
