The team at Habiliteringscenter Haninge, which works with patients with autism, is now looking for a counselor who thrives on challenges.

Our work is characterized by enthusiasm and a strong commitment to our patients. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of special educators, psychologists, counselors, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists. We collaborate closely to provide interventions for patients, both individually and in groups. We serve individuals residing in the municipalities of Haninge, Tyresö, and Nynäshamn.

The unit specializes in intellectual disabilities, motor impairments, and diagnoses within the autism spectrum. Our goal is to create conditions that allow patients to function as well as possible in their daily lives.

About the role:

We are looking for a counselor colleague for our team working with children with autism spectrum disorders. As a counselor in child habilitation, you work to map the needs of children and parents and assess the need for care and suitable interventions. Interventions are planned together with the patient and their network following an assessment of the individual's situation and the network's prerequisites.

You provide individual support through psychoeducation, lead support conversations with children and young people, and offer support in the parenting role. You also provide advice, support, and consultation to people in the patient's network, such as relatives and other care and support providers. The work involves following the patient's development, providing support to prevent and reduce problem-solving behavior, strengthening communicative interaction, and informing about the impact of disability on daily life.

Your work may also involve leading groups and giving lectures. The tasks are varied and require flexibility, as you do not only meet patients at the habilitation center but also in their immediate environment. Leading and participating in network meetings, such as SIP meetings, is part of the job.

All interventions are documented in our journal system, Take Care. We work systematically according to a structured care process and use habilitation programs as support in planning and implementing interventions.

About you:

We are looking for you with a degree in social work who wants to work in our team for children and young people with autism spectrum diagnoses. You have experience in counseling work with support contacts and preferably youth conversations. You should have very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

You should have experience working with children with disabilities and their networks.

Knowledge of disabilities and working methods such as clarifying pedagogy or applied behavior analysis (ABA) is advantageous. Experience leading groups and giving lectures, e.g., within KONTAKT or ACT, is a plus. You should have knowledge of how to work with problem behavior. The job requires an interest in collaborating with other healthcare providers and municipal activities.

You are a person who is proactive and driven by finding solutions with the patient in focus. You enjoy working both independently and in a team, and take personal responsibility for planning, developing, and driving patient work forward in a structured manner.

Documentation skills are of great importance as we journal our interventions. You are interested in providing interventions in group format, have good computer skills, and experience with digital meeting tools, as many meetings take place remotely.

Here, the ability to collaborate and be driven by collegial learning is important, as you work in close cooperation with other professional categories at your unit.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

• A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
• Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to a Swedish professional license. The same requirement applies to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
