About the role

As a foster care consultant in the Stockholm region, you are our local face. You are responsible for a number of foster homes and are their most important professional support in everyday life: from recruitment and matching to ongoing supervision and follow-up. You work from your home and plan much of your own working day, with home visits and meetings as a natural part of your routine. Your introduction and training initially take place at our office in Gothenburg, and you will return there regularly for team meetings and check-ins.

About the work area:

Your base is Stockholm, but assignments also occur regularly in Uppsala, Södermanland, and Västmanland. When recruiting new foster homes, occasional travel within the entire region may be required.

You will primarily:

• Recruit, investigate, and match emergency and foster homes in the region
• Supervise and support foster homes in their assignments, even in complex situations
• Conduct home visits and follow up on ongoing placements
• Collaborate with social services, schools, and other actors regarding the child
• Document and report continuously to the client and to the team in Gothenburg
• Participate in on-call duty according to a rotating schedule

We are looking for you who

Have a degree in social work (social worker) or another equivalent higher education degree in social work, with experience in social work, preferably with children and young people. You are a secure and solution-oriented person who navigates confidently in complex relationships between foster homes, children, biological networks, and social services. Since you work largely independently for most of the time, it is important that you are self-motivated, structured, and comfortable with independent responsibility, while also valuing and actively seeking contact with the team.

You also have:

• Good knowledge of current legislation, especially the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU)
• Ability to maintain focus and structure even when the pace is high, without daily office presence
• A warm and professional approach in meetings with foster homes and children
• Category B driver's license and own car – the position involves regular home visits and travel in the region (compensation according to current rates)
• Residing in the Stockholm area and surroundings

Meritorious

• Experience in foster care, investigation, or supervision of foster homes
• Training in BBIC, MI, Signs of Safety, or "A Home to Grow In"
• Training in investigation methods for foster homes, such as Kälvesten
• Supervision training for foster homes
• Previous experience working from home/remote in a similar role
