About the Role
The ASD Team works with children and young people with autism spectrum diagnoses and their networks. As a counselor, you are a key figure in working with the family's psychosocial situation, their understanding of the diagnosis, and the conditions in everyday life.
You work closely with the families over time and contribute with support, direction, and stability in often complex life situations.
Responsibilities
- Psychosocial conversation support for children, young people, and guardians
- Parent support related to autism, stress, burden, and interaction
- Advice regarding social support, interventions, and collaboration
- Collaboration with schools, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Disabilities), social services, and other actors
- Active role in an interdisciplinary team with high specialist competence
Qualifications (Required)
- Degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
- Experience working with children, young people, and families
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
Meritorious
- Experience working within rehabilitation or similar operations
- Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions
- Experience collaborating with schools, LSS, and social services
Personal Attributes
You are confident in conversations, have a good ability to build trust, and can work in a structured manner. You have good judgment and the ability to handle complex cases and long-term processes.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be reserved for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):
- A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment medical examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
- Swedish professional licensure is required, along with good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirement applies to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
