We are constantly developing and improving, taking responsibility by providing the right intervention to the right person at the right time.

Job Description

Do you want to work in a smaller municipality where you have significant influence, close leadership, and the opportunity to make a real difference for children and families? Then Nykvarn might be the right workplace for you.

The Child and Family Unit is growing, and we are now looking for another engaged social worker who wants to make a real difference for children, young people, and their families. You are independently responsible for the entire authority process - from preliminary assessment and investigation to analysis, assessment, decision-making according to delegation, and follow-up of interventions.

With the support of clear processes and close collaboration with colleagues, you conduct a legally secure exercise of authority where the child's best interests are always at the center. Here, you will have a broad and developing role where you follow your cases closely and build broad competence in exercising authority for children and young people. Since we are a smaller municipality, we work together across operational boundaries. This means you will gain experience in more parts of the operation than is often possible in larger organizations. The role suits you if you appreciate variety, take responsibility, and thrive in a flat-hierarchy collaboration.

You will also become an important part of the unit's quality and development work.

We work with goal orientation and would appreciate your contribution of ideas and engagement in the development of our working methods, routines, and collaboration forms. The assignment includes close collaboration with colleagues, guardians, and other professionals, both internally and externally, always with the child's and family's best interests in focus.

The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%).

About the Operation

We at the Child and Family Unit look forward to welcoming you as our new colleague!

Here, you will work in an operation where quality, collaboration, and development are in focus. We know that sustainable social work requires a sustainable working life. Therefore, we invest in close leadership, a helpful work climate, and good conditions for you to perform professional and legally secure work.

We are a smaller municipality and see this as one of our greatest strengths. Here, decision-making paths are short, collaboration is close, and your ideas are valued. Active employee participation and clear leadership are the foundation of our operation, and we value a work environment characterized by openness, respect, trust, and joy in work.

The unit consists of a unit manager, a team leader, three social workers in the intake function, five social workers working with investigation and follow-up of interventions, a case worker for children placed in foster care, and two social workers responsible for foster care, family law, and contact secretary activities. We are now strengthening the investigation group with another colleague.

We invest in your development. You are offered external supervision every month, regular case supervision in groups, and close support in everyday life from both the team leader and the unit manager. You work in modern premises in Nykvarn Municipality House, within walking distance to the train station, with free parking. With Mälartåg, you can easily reach Nykvarn if you travel by public transport. We share premises with the adult unit, which creates good conditions for close collaboration when family needs cover several operational areas.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • You have a degree in Social Work (Social Work degree)
  • You have several years of recent experience in investigative work after graduation
  • You have experience with placements according to SoL (Social Services Act) and LVU (Care of Young Persons Special Provisions Act)
  • You are secure and stable with a high degree of empathy and a positive mindset
  • You are flexible and have good collaboration and initiative skills
  • You must be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish.
  • You have a driver's license
  • You are attracted to working in an exciting developing municipality where you want to be involved in driving development work.

Merits:

  • You have experience and interest in development issues, quality assurance, collaboration, and team-based working methods.
  • You have experience working according to the Signs of Safety approach
  • You have knowledge and experience of investigation according to SAVRY/EARL
  • You have knowledge and experience of handling youth cases.

Here, you will have the opportunity for competence development as it is an area we work actively with, and we have close collaboration between the unit working with adults and those carrying out interventions, which contributes to workplace learning.

Other Information
