Are you a driven and collaborative person with a strong understanding of the school's core values and development work? We are looking for a Senior Teacher (First Teacher) who can act as a culture bearer and actively contribute to the school's forward path.

Toftanäs School currently has five Senior Teachers who contribute to pedagogical development on behalf of the management team. The specific role is not defined by a particular subject. In close consultation with the school leadership, you will have excellent conditions to plan, implement, and evaluate the development initiatives for which you are responsible. For the school's development work, we have a School Development Group whose task we describe as planning and developing operations from a strategic perspective, and acting as the engine for the entire school's development process by linking daily activities to broader goals. Your development initiatives will inspire your colleagues and contribute to higher goal achievement.

At the same time, the majority of your position involves teaching, where you teach Music or Crafts (Slöjd). You conduct varied, creative, and engaging teaching for our students, both individually and in teams. You find strategies to reach every student and contribute to increased goal achievement. You plan, assess, evaluate, and develop the pedagogical operations in accordance with the school's governing documents and systematic quality work. The Senior Teacher works at their own workplace but also has a partially municipal/administrative cross-over assignment by spreading good examples.

Qualifications

You, as the applicant, are a certified teacher with qualifications in Music or Crafts for grades 4–9. To remain eligible for the Senior Teacher role, you must, through documentation, be able to report at least four years of well-recognized work after graduation involving teaching within the framework of one or more employments in the school system. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and experience, you work effectively with relevant digital tools, as well as having experience leading other teachers.

You have documented skill in raising students' academic results and a strong commitment to stimulating learning through high-quality teaching. We value experience in driving goal achievement and quality development, as well as the ability to strategically contribute to the school's development through initiative-taking and collaboration. To thrive and be successful in your role as a Senior Teacher with us, it is important that you are skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You need to have a curious and open approach to different perspectives and knowledge, and be adaptable to others' approaches. Furthermore, you are a stable and enduring leader who drives long-term development processes to completion with great calm. You have a conceptual and systematic ability to transform holistic visions into structured practice, while your flexible and open approach makes you receptive to others' perspectives.
