About the School

Practical Gymnasiet Kristianstad trains tomorrow's professional experts by alternating theory with practical learning at the school and out at workplaces. Approximately 360 students study here, and about 40 dedicated employees work here.

We offer education within Plumbing and Property, Construction and Infrastructure, Electricity and Energy, Vehicles and Transport, Hairdressing, Care and Nursing, as well as Sales and Service.

Are you a car mechanic and want to make a difference?

Have you worked as a mechanic for a few years and feel it's time for a new challenge? Do you want to use your professional knowledge to train the next generation of vehicle technicians – without leaving the industry entirely?

We are now looking for an engaged vocational teacher for the Vehicles and Transport program.

The position is a permanent part-time position at 60% and suits you who want to combine teaching with continued work in a workshop or who are seeking a more varied and long-term career.

You do not need to be a trained teacher. The most important thing is that you have solid professional knowledge and want to share it. We help you grow into the teacher role.

Your Assignment

You teach students in year 1 of the Vehicles and Transport program and lay the foundation for their future professional lives.

You teach practical and theoretical modules within car technology and help students develop professional skills, safety awareness, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and a professional work approach.

You become an important adult figure in the students' daily lives and work together with colleagues to create a safe and developmental learning environment. The position may include mentorship and other common teacher duties.

An important part of the education is the students' work-based learning (APL). Therefore, you collaborate with car workshops and supervisors and follow the students' development at the workplaces.

We work with SchoolSoft and Google Workspace, and you receive close support from both colleagues and school management.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have education and experience from the automotive industry. You may, for example, work or have worked as:

• car mechanic
• vehicle technician
• diagnostic technician
• service technician
• workshop manager
• team leader
• self-employed entrepreneur
• or have other relevant experience from the automotive industry.

If you have supervised apprentices, interns, or new employees and enjoyed it, we believe you will thrive very well as a teacher.

Teaching certification and teaching experience are meritorious but not a requirement. We also welcome those who have never worked in a school before. If you lack teaching qualifications, we help you develop in the teacher role and can together plan the path towards a vocational teacher degree and teaching certification.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You are confident, responsible, and enjoy sharing your knowledge. You are motivated by seeing others develop and want to contribute to training tomorrow's vehicle technicians.
