The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Northern Sweden, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equal care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience. The clinic has moved to a newly built building where the care environment will be shaped by the idea of the care environment's importance in promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, which will be evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic will become climate-smart through self-sufficiency in, among other things, electricity and heat.

We are looking for a Nurse for the Psychosis Clinic, where the target group is patients with schizophrenia and schizophrenia-like conditions between the ages of 18 and 60. The clinic is divided into multiprofessional teams in which work is centered around the patient's needs. The work is carried out according to a modified Case Management model. Treatment takes place both individually, in groups, and together with the patient's relatives.

We collaborate daily with various actors such as social services, primary care, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Public Employment Service. At the clinic, we work with reception visits, home visits, and outreach activities. Our work offers varied and stimulating tasks, and through our teamwork, we make a difference. As a new employee at the clinic, you will have an introduction plan based on your needs, regardless of experience and competence, as well as a supervisor.

Job Description

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

Your duties as a nurse include functioning as a clinic nurse at certain times, where you, among other things, provide telephone advice, telephone follow-ups, and coordination. You are responsible for medication management, follow-up during pharmacological treatment, sample collection, inviting for annual check-ups, and having conversations based on the patient's needs.

You provide somatic knowledge and contribute with a holistic perspective on the medical, somatic, social, and psychiatric areas. The work takes place both at the clinic and in the patient's immediate environment through home visits together with a colleague.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and have an interest in working within psychiatry. If you have experience of psychiatric care, outpatient care, or other healthcare, it is meritorious, but not a requirement.

You are comfortable making decisions and have an easy time adapting to changed circumstances. The work involves many contact surfaces, so we place great emphasis on your ability to communicate, your good attitude towards people, and your good teamwork skills.

You have basic knowledge and skills in working with computers as well as good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
