Do you believe that safe and person-centered care is most important when the rest of society is asleep? Do you also want a job where you can work independently, make important decisions, and at the same time feel strong support from engaged colleagues? Then the role of nurse in the night team here at Skellefteå Municipality might be just right for you.
We are currently looking for a nurse for our night team, where you, together with your colleagues, are responsible for care interventions throughout Skellefteå Municipality. You will be based at Tor Care and Support Home in central Skellefteå and become part of a business where collaboration, care, and professional responsibility go hand in hand.
Here you will get a varied and meaningful job where you make a real difference for people.
YOUR ROLE
As a nurse in the night team, you work to provide quality primary care to patients aged 18 and above in their home environment. Interventions are carried out in care and support homes, ordinary housing, and LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) housing throughout the municipality.
At night, four nurses work together, and you plan and prioritize interventions based on the patients' current needs. The work is independent, varied, and requires you to make safe decisions even in situations that change rapidly. Examples of tasks include symptom relief in the final stages of life, assessments in cases of sudden deterioration in health, and other acute or planned health care interventions.
You work closely with patients, relatives, care staff, colleagues, and other actors both within the municipality and the region. Together, you work to create safe, secure, and person-centered care where the patient's needs are always in focus.
In your work, you use digital tools that support planning, documentation, and communication. You also have support from colleagues and on-call doctors via telephone when the situation requires it.
We believe in trust, dialogue, and good relationships as the foundation for a sustainable working life. Therefore, you have the opportunity to influence your schedule and plan your working hours based on the needs of the business. Currently, the position involves approximately two weekends every six weeks. Working hours are mainly scheduled for nights, but some evening shifts may occur.
YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
You are a registered nurse, or about to be registered, and preferably have experience working as a nurse. Good subject competence and a desire to continuously develop within your profession are important for you to succeed in the role. If you also have completed specialist education in relevant areas, this is an advantage.
We believe you function best in the role if you are independent, proactive, and responsible. You work carefully and systematically, have an eye for detail, and are stable and secure in your approach – meaning you can keep your cool and prioritize correctly even in a fast-changing and challenging work environment. As a person, you are pedagogical and considerate in your approach and enjoy working closely in a team. A B-class driver's license is required.
For the position, you need to have good communicative skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since Skellefteå Municipality is a Finnish and Sami administrative municipality, we see it as an advantage if you can speak Finnish or Sami. If you can also sign, we see it as an asset to the business.
The position is subject to requirements for extract from the register according to law. In the event of a job offer, you must present an extract from the criminal record for work with elderly persons or persons with disabilities. You are responsible for ordering the correct extract from the Police Authority.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
As a nurse in our health and medical care unit, you become part of an engaged team where we work to ensure that every patient gets a daily life with security, care, and quality of life. Here you are met by colleagues who are happy to share knowledge and support each other. Here you have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and person-centered care that really makes a difference in people's lives. We offer you support in your development through individual introduction, further education, and good development opportunities.
