The Heart Centre in Umeå aims to create the best care for heart patients in northern Sweden. We provide highly specialized cardiac care and have overall responsibility for the county's patients.

The Heart Centre includes the Cardiology Clinic, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology Ward, PCI Lab, Arrhythmia Unit, as well as Clinical Physiology and the Centre for Cardiovascular Genetics. We investigate, treat, and operate on patients from the entire northern region with diseases of the heart, lungs, and coronary arteries. By collaborating across boundaries, having efficient care chains, working with continuous improvement, and employing competent staff, we can offer care of very high quality. We have approximately 400 employees at the Heart Centre.

On the Cardiology Ward, we are approximately 30 nurses and 20 nursing assistants. The Cardiology Ward consists of a care ward with 12 beds, a cardiac intensive care unit (HIA) with 5 beds, and an investigation ward which is a week-care unit with up to 8 inpatient beds plus day care. On our three wards, there is a mix of planned activities, intermediate care, and emergency cases from the emergency department.

We are looking for nurses for the Cardiology Ward

We are now looking for two additional nurses to join our wonderful team on the Cardiology Ward. Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel safe.

The work as a nurse with us is qualified, and no two shifts are alike. Your tasks include identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and evaluating patients' needs. The work is varied and offers great diversity in content and pace, sometimes at a high tempo with short care periods, and at other times consisting of more complex issues and slightly longer care times.

The employment involves rotation between our three wards: the care ward, HIA, and the investigation ward.

You plan and carry out medical nursing interventions in close collaboration with nursing assistants. It is a fun, varied, and challenging job where you have the opportunity to learn new things every day in a wonderful work group. We always help each other and have good cooperation with other professional groups (doctors, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, social workers, and care-related services). The focus is always on the patient.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. We value previous knowledge within cardiac care, but it is not a requirement.

You like to take responsibility and work in a team. To thrive with us, we see that you are quality-conscious, proactive, and committed. You have good interpersonal skills, see the whole patient, and can adapt your care to the patient's different needs during their stay.

Employment Terms and Conditions

• Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer. Start date: 2026-09-01 (or by agreement). Temporary position with good opportunities for extension, ending: 2027-12-31.
• Working Hours: Roster-based.
