This announcement is aimed at those interested in starting work as a substitute within Care and Support and/or Support and Service. If you are already working as a substitute with us and wish for more shifts or training in more units, we encourage you to first speak with your nearest manager or staffing unit.

YOUR ROLE

As a substitute within Care and Support, your workdays can look very different depending on where the need is. For example, you might work in home care or at a care and nursing home, supporting elderly people with both practical tasks and personal care. You could be the one creating safety during the night in the Night Patrol or the one responding when the safety alarm goes off.

As a substitute within Support and Service, you are a support for people with disabilities in their daily lives and leisure time. You can work in group homes, service apartments, or day activities, contributing to creating safety and inclusion in people's lives. In short-term homes or leisure activities, you get the opportunity to work closely with children and young people, where your contribution makes a big difference for them and their families. As a personal assistant, you base your work on the individual's needs and wishes to create the most independent and meaningful daily life possible. You can also support people with mental health issues within social psychiatry, where the work involves everything from establishing routines to promoting social contacts. Additionally, as an escort or relief worker, you can contribute to a richer leisure time for the individual while offering respite for relatives.

Regardless of the assignment, the job is about the same thing: being there for other people so they can live their lives to the best of their ability.

Working hours vary depending on the operation and can include days, evenings, weekends, on-call nights, and/or awake nights.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

You are a person who creates safety around you. Even when many things are happening at once, you remain calm and focus on what is most important. You find it easy to collaborate with others, but you also take responsibility and make your own decisions when the situation requires it.

You are sensitive to people's different needs and have a respectful approach. It shows that you care about others and want to contribute to creating a good day for those you meet.

It is an advantage if you have education or experience from care and support, social work, or educational activities. Knowledge of PECS (TAKK) or sign language is also a merit.

You need to have good physical fitness as the work can sometimes be physically demanding. You also need to be able to speak and write Swedish to communicate with both colleagues and the people you meet, as well as to document according to the operation's routines.

A Class B driver's license is required in some operations.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

As a substitute, you become part of a work team where we help each other and share knowledge and experiences. Our operations are located throughout the municipality, and you get the opportunity to work in different environments, meet many people, and develop in your professional role.

Skellefteå is a municipality in change and development, but what always remains is our focus on the people we are here for. Regardless of where you work, you are an important part of what makes daily life function for others. Here you get independent and varied work where your contribution is noticed and appreciated.

GOOD TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV.

As part of the recruitment process, a Swedish language test is conducted. If you can show approved grades in basic Swedish or equivalent, this can replace the language test.

The position is subject to legal requirements for register extracts. Prior to any potential job offer, you must present an extract from the criminal record register for work with elderly persons or persons with disabilities or work with children according to LSS, depending on the operation. You are responsible for ordering the correct extract from the Police Authority.

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
