About the Department

Neuropsychiatry is one of five adult psychiatric departments within Sahlgrenska University Hospital. We provide specialized psychiatric care focusing on memory-related diseases, neuropsychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, psychiatry for the deaf and hard of hearing, psychiatry for patients with eating disorders, psychiatry for patients with intellectual disabilities, and patients with Huntington's disease.

Currently, neuropsychiatric care consists of two clinics for the assessment of neuropsychiatric disabilities and treatment of ADHD. Another clinic is planned to start shortly, focusing on the treatment of general psychiatric comorbidity in autism and the treatment of Tourette's syndrome.

Job Description

The role of Specialist Physician in Psychiatry at the Neuropsychiatry Clinic West/East involves largely supervising resident physicians in a dual-consultation model. Additionally, the work includes conducting neuropsychiatric assessments (ADHD, autism, or intellectual disability) and providing treatment for patients needing ADHD treatment. Since many of our patients also have other psychiatric comorbidities such as depression, anxiety, or sleep disorders, treatment of comorbidity according to given national and regional guidelines regarding division of responsibility is also included. On-call duties are also part of the role.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician and hold specialist competence in psychiatry. As a person, you are confident in your role as a physician and have a strong interest in sharing your knowledge with others, both within your own profession and with other professions. If you have previous experience supervising in a dual-consultation model, we view this positively.
