About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces Transport Unit (TPE) is a joint service unit within the Swedish Armed Forces Logistics Organisation (FMLOG). The unit serves as the Swedish Armed Forces' national transport coordination centre and is responsible for central transport control across all modes of transport.

About the Section

The Land Planning Section, focusing on land transport, is part of the Transport Planning Department's organisation, which has management responsibility for the implementation of transport services within land, sea, air, and rail transport. We plan, support, and monitor the Swedish Armed Forces' transports both within Sweden and internationally, including foreign transports and transits through the country. Here, an engaged and solution-oriented work team works together to drive operations towards set goals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor strategic and operational transports.
  • Lead and coordinate several parallel transport activities, including operational planning.
  • Participate in defence planning and act as an active party in international transport operations.
  • Contribute to the production of situation reports for higher command.
  • Have special responsibility for coordinating heavy transports at the national level.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Professional officer rank OF1–2 or OR6–7.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience of the Swedish Armed Forces' transport operations.
  • Category B driving licence.

To succeed in the role, you need to have good teamwork skills and be able to work independently. You have an unpretentious approach, good communication skills, and act pedagogically both internally and externally. You thrive in handling varied and sometimes complex situations and are solution-focused. You must also be able to plan in parallel for both the short and long term.
