About the Position

Cadet training for the officer profession takes place at the Military Academy Karlberg. The academic education is provided by the Swedish Defence University (FHS) on behalf of the government. One of the tasks of the Military Academy Karlberg is to support FHS in cadet training, which is carried out by the Cadet Battalion. This support ranges from providing food and accommodation to conducting exercises planned by FHS within the course operations. In addition to the education provided by FHS, the Military Academy Karlberg and the Cadet Battalion conduct their own training to prepare cadets for a future in the Swedish Armed Forces.

The support to the Defence University and the education primarily stems from the Cadet Battalion, which is one of several units at Karlberg. The position involves placement at the Cadet Battalion's staff, specifically on the planning department. The main task is to coordinate the battalion-wide operations and support for the various courses at the Defence University within the framework of the Officer Program (OP).

The role of Planning Officer entails long-term planning and coordination of the battalion's operations. The planning department works largely in a project-based format with individual responsibility for each project. This may involve responsibility for planning, implementation, and collaboration with other units and authorities. The work requires independence, the ability to take initiative, and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct major exercises for the Cadet Battalion, such as winter exercises, combat training, and performance exercises.
• Collaborate internally within the Swedish Armed Forces and externally with other authorities, including the Defence University.
• Coordinate various resources in terms of equipment, personnel, and training venues.
• Act as a staff member and support the battalion in daily operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Completed officer or specialist officer education (minimum OF1/SO6, e.g., Lieutenant/Sergeant Major).
• Experience working in the Swedish Armed Forces' operational support system.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

• Experience as an exercise leader in exercises at company level or larger.
• Experience in cadet training and the Swedish Armed Forces' education system.
