As a Systems Management Officer in the Swedish Armed Forces, you will be a vital part of a successful team within an agency experiencing strong growth. About the Unit
The main task of the 161st Air Surveillance Battalion is to oversee Swedish airspace and conduct air combat control. The battalion is engaged in operational activities on a daily basis. Other duties include the operation and protection of fortified command posts, as well as the deployment of mobile sensors and radio systems across Sweden.
The battalion staff primarily works with coordination and preparation of matters at all conflict levels, from peace to war. The staff consists of four sections, one of which is the SIS section, which works with communications and command support systems. The section's task includes planning the battalion's operations regarding communications and command support systems in our facilities and buildings.
Main Responsibilities
The role of Systems Management Officer involves a broad and varied workload in the field. You will, among other things, develop, implement, and manage various open and classified systems. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Air Surveillance Battalion's command support systems and telecommunications infrastructure at the battalion's various locations across the country.
You handle administrative tasks within IT and information security, as well as accreditation work. You will work closely with our users and internal suppliers, playing a key role in the growing section's operations. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Officer's degree
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Valid driver's license (Category B)

You have a knack for taking initiative and responsibility in any given situation. Your ability to collaborate is high, and you possess a high degree of integrity and humility. You are social and outgoing with good communication skills, and you feel confident working independently within your field. You can quickly reprioritize and act in the best interest of the Air Surveillance Battalion when the service requires it.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in Swedish Armed Forces processes, as well as with its command support systems and IT issues
- Experience in communications service
- Experience in staff work
- Education and experience in signals security service

Other Information
Employment Type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.
Work Hours: Full-time.
Work Location: Bålsta. F 16 also has operations in other locations, which may involve business travel.
Working Hours: Primarily daytime. Evening and weekend duty may occur during training activities.
Start Date: As soon as possible, according to agreement.
Salary: We apply individual salary setting.
