About the Unit
The CYBER Unit is part of the Defence Staff and leads the work of implementing the Swedish Armed Forces' strategic direction in the Information, Communications, and Technology (ICT) area. The unit's goal is to ensure agency-coordinated, robust, and effective command capabilities. The Swedish Armed Forces are conducting extensive change work to digitize operations. As part of this work, a staff detail (function) and a planning detail (function) have recently been established at the Defence Staff's Cyber Unit. The staff detail is responsible for the initial processing and distribution of the unit's incoming tasks. The planning detail is cohesive for the unit's planning.
Main Responsibilities
The role of staff assistant involves being an important part of our teams supporting the head and employees in the planning section and staff section. Duties include, among other things, handling and coordinating daily administrative tasks, preparing and compiling reports, presentations, and minutes. As a staff assistant, you plan and organize meetings and other events, as well as communicate and coordinate with internal and external actors to ensure that our leaders receive information and decision support by assisting with ongoing administrative tasks. Collaboration with other departments and units within the Defence Staff and the Headquarters can be expected. As a member of a higher staff, other tasks may also be added.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed current GMU or basic training with military service in the Swedish Armed Forces
- Completed upper secondary education with passing grades
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Very good computer skills and high proficiency in MS Office

QUALIFICATIONS
- Formally completed staff assistant training
- Group commander training from military service/basic training
- Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems, PRIO/SAP, VIDAR, SWECCIS, ISUS, SHAREPOINT
- Completed basic course in security service
- Trained on the Swedish Armed Forces' cryptosystems
- Completed basic course in staff service
- Previously employed within the Swedish Armed Forces
- Experience working as a staff assistant
- Experience from work in other public administration
- Experience in service-oriented administrative work
- Knowledge of NATO systems and general experience of NATO processes and working methods
- Category B driver's license
OTHER
Employment type: GSS-K, the employment begins with a 6-month probationary period.

Work location: Stockholm
Start date: According to agreement, as soon as possible.
The position may involve travel as well as evening and weekend duties, which will be planned with good advance notice.

Information about the recruiting unit:
The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at the Headquarters. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' Staff Department and independent supervision units.
An employment with us implies placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required.
