About the workplace

FMLOG supports the Swedish Armed Forces' wartime units in carrying out their tasks at all readiness levels. We contribute to increased sustainability by planning, storing, delivering, and coordinating the need for supplies and transport. Together, we ensure that the Swedish Armed Forces' operational capability is maintained, both nationally and internationally.

Command support systems provide direct support to operations and are a prerequisite for maintaining communications and command capability at all levels of conflict.

Job Responsibilities

As a staff assistant at J6, you will primarily work in an office environment and play a central role within the section. You provide crucial support in daily operations and contribute to creating structure and coordination within the organization.

The duties include administrative support and, based on operational needs and your skills or interests, support in preparation and information processing. The role also involves collaborating with other functions within the staff.

You need to have strong analytical skills and be able to formulate well-founded assessments, especially in written documentation. The position requires the ability to structure and handle information in digital systems, as well as good verbal communication and collaboration skills.

The development of the position takes place in dialogue with the individual employee. There is an opportunity to focus individual competence development on command support systems based on personal drive and interest, in line with the section's tasks. This could, for example, involve participating in external training or development projects.

The position includes travel outside the duty station.

Qualifications

  • Basic soldier training
  • High school diploma.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite.
  • Category B driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in signal, communications, or IT services within the Swedish Armed Forces.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' command support systems.
  • Experience in staff duties.
  • Experience in structuring and processing information.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT and support systems.
  • Experience in archiving and registering documents within a government agency.
  • Relevant post-secondary education in IT or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent.

Personal Attributes

To succeed in the role, you need to be organized, have good social skills, and be able to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a critical approach. You easily adapt to new and complex tasks and possess well-developed collaboration skills.

Furthermore, you have high integrity, a well-developed security awareness, high personal maturity, and feel confident in your professional role. The operations can sometimes be characterized by a high pace, which requires you to handle a heavy workload.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Employment type: Military position. Fixed-term employment under the GSS/K agreement for a maximum of 8 years. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a 6-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.
