1st Cyber Defence Regiment (1.CFF) is part of the Swedish Armed Forces' capability for armed combat in the cyber domain. We defend the Armed Forces' command and support systems through both proactive scouting activities and reactive handling of IT security incidents. Our designated adversaries possess significant resources and high competence, which places high demands on us as we protect these systems. Since the regiment's operations involve handling live deployments, you will play a crucial role in defending Sweden and strengthening our collective capability in the cyber domain.

The Cyber Defence is growing and is now seeking Department and Section Chiefs in Enköping.

Main Responsibilities

As an officer at 1.CFF, you will work with personnel leadership and development, at either the department or section level. You will be a key figure in our operational capability, working with planning, development, and follow-up for both deployment organizations and war-time units.

The regiment has several sections within our Cyber Defence Department that conduct proactive operations within the Armed Forces' systems. These operations range from mapping and collaboration to gain good knowledge of the systems, to intelligence-driven hunting for adversaries and own attacks to evaluate the protection and defense capabilities of the systems. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the department or section during the execution of operations and continuous activities, as well as acting as an operator.
  • Driving the development of the section's various functional areas, which also includes influencing external factors within the Armed Forces.
  • Working to establish necessary interfaces within and outside the regiment and the Armed Forces.
  • Developing the Armed Forces' cyber defence capability together with the rest of the department leadership.

What We Offer You

  • Time, opportunity, and tools to deliver results in your tasks.
  • An annual education plan that you have significant influence over, to deepen your competence.
  • Competent and driven colleagues working towards a common goal.
  • Opportunity to train up to 3 hours per week during working hours. At our unit, training is a work task.
  • The work takes place on-site, but we place great emphasis on having a good balance between work and private life, with the possibility of flexible working hours.

Personal Attributes

To thrive as a section or department chief with us, you should be a secure and stable person, take responsibility for your tasks, act without pretension, and find it easy to collaborate with different types of people. We prefer that you are trustworthy and have high integrity. You should have good ability for abstract thinking and the ability to switch perspectives from the whole to the detail level, while always being able to discern what is most important right now and best for the operations in the long run. This also requires humility towards your employees, integrity to drive through what is needed, and the willingness and ability to communicate directly and clearly.
