About the unit

As a staff assistant at the Uppland Air Wing, F 16, you are part of the wing staff. The wing staff is the highest staff level of the unit and has the main task of producing decision support materials for the Commander F 16. The staff is responsible for receiving orders and directives from the Air Staff and Military Region and breaking them down into tasks for the unit's subordinate units. The wing staff is the unit that prepares and issues orders for the unit commander's tasks to directly subordinate units.

Main responsibilities

You support the staff regarding administration in the PRIO and VIDAR systems. You are a resource and asset for the staff and can support as a participant in, for example, ceremonies, transports, and visits.

The work as a staff assistant within the staff requires independent individuals who can take great responsibility and are willing to learn. You will learn a lot about how an air wing operates and get the opportunity to build a large network within and outside the unit. This is a particularly suitable position if you intend to apply for an officer role in the future.

Examples of tasks within the position of staff assistant:

Within the Swedish Armed Forces, we always work as a team. Our organization is built on cooperation, adaptability, and a shared responsibility for the whole. This means that we are all ready to support each other, sometimes even outside our own competence and comfort zones. Therefore, as an employee, you may occasionally be faced with new types of tasks. This is a natural part of working in the Swedish Armed Forces, which benefits both the agency and the employee's development, and you will never be given a task for which you do not have the prerequisites to handle.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Passed conscription or military basic training.
  • Good proficiency in working with Microsoft Office.
  • Good verbal and written skills in both Swedish and English.

Personal qualities

You have a structured work approach, are receptive and flexible. You enjoy having several tasks going at the same time and have the ability to adapt when conditions change. You take responsibility for your tasks, work independently when required, and find it easy to collaborate with others. With a professional and positive attitude, you build trusting relationships in your surroundings. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

  • Category B driver's license.
  • Relevant experience from the Swedish Armed Forces, preferably the Air Force.
