About the Unit

6223. Insatspluton (Operations Platoon) falls under 1622. Flygbassäkkompaniet (Air Base Security Company) at F 16 and is responsible for IBSS (Air Base Security) within Uppsala Garrison. The platoon operates both inside and outside the facility and provides Military Police (MP) competence to the wing.

Main Responsibilities

In this position, you will be part of an operational ready security force at Uppsala Garrison. As an operations soldier, you will assist the operations commander during incidents and maintain security within the Uppland Air Wing.

The role of operations soldier includes, among other things:

  • Assisting the guard commander and/or operations commander during incidents.
  • Patrolling.
  • Transport protection.
  • Training activities with the home unit; training/exercises in other locations may occur.
  • Access control.
  • Vehicle inspection.
  • Guard duty.

The position involves day shifts, night shifts, and weekend duty. As an operations soldier, you will participate in exercises within the Swedish Armed Forces. The duty as an operations soldier can be both physically and mentally demanding.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Swedish citizenship.
  • Completed military basic training with a passing grade.
  • Military Security Guard certification.
  • Driver's license, class B or higher.
  • Trained in automatic carbines.
  • Good physical fitness according to FM FysS (level 2).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current or former employee of the Swedish Armed Forces.
  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Training in Pistol m/88.
  • Section Leader.
  • Military Police.
  • MRPAS.
  • C-UAS.
  • Pre-drive certificate for light personnel terrain vehicle.
  • Close Combat Instructor.
  • Combat Medic.

Other

Employment Type: Employment according to the Armed Forces agreement for continuously serving section leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSSK). The Swedish Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Employment Level: Full-time

Work Location: Uppsala. Business travel and education in other locations occur, and participation in training activities may imply absence and work being performed at times other than regular working hours.

Working Hours: The position involves shift planning. Working hours include day, night, and weekends.

The position includes 3 hours of physical training during working hours.

Start Date: According to agreement.

Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting unit: Uppland Air Wing, F 16, has its headquarters at Uppsala Garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and security of Uppsala Airport, as well as the training of conscripts in various positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Command and Air Control Battalion, which controls fighter aircraft in the air and manages the constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several different locations in the country and is an important part of the growth period the Air Force is undergoing.
