F 16 is responsible for the Uppsala Garrison and the operation of Uppsala Airport. The wing is also responsible for the 24/7/365 surveillance of Swedish airspace and leads the Air Force's combat aircraft in the air. You will become part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the geopolitical situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit
163rd Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, the Garrison Company, and the Training Company, which together create the prerequisites for assigned units to focus on their main tasks.
Main Responsibilities
This position is located at 311. Supply Platoon or 312. Transport and Fuel Platoon. The work involves handling, storing, transporting, and issuing the Swedish Armed Forces' materiel. This can range from personal equipment and ammunition to fuel for the Air Force's aircraft and other vehicles. You will contribute to ensuring that the right materiel reaches the right place at the right time.
The work as a logistics soldier is varied and may involve participating in the planning and execution of logistics operations, both within Sweden and abroad. You will work with material reporting according to current directives and systems, while also contributing to building good relationships with counterparts both within and outside the Swedish Armed Forces. You will become an important part of a cohesive team where logistics is more than just transport – it is a central and society-supporting function.
Some of the main responsibilities include:
- Delivering logistics support to the garrison's own units as well as national and international units
- Being part of the battalion's ceremonial unit, security guard duties, honor guard, and transport unit depending on education and competencies
- Being part of the battalion's mobilization work
- Handling incoming and outgoing cargo
- Reporting supplies in the Swedish Armed Forces' reporting system
- Conducting transport of cargo within and outside the garrison
- Supplying materiel to units and observers on overseas service
- Conducting materiel handling
- Conducting maintenance of vehicles and handling equipment
- Assisting in maintaining contact with customers and suppliers
- Participating in other activities and tasks within the company
- Contributing to the development of logistics solutions within the Air Force and the Swedish Armed Forces

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed upper secondary education
- Completed Swedish conscription, GMU (General Military Training) or GSU (General Service Training) with a passing grade
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission)
- Good computer skills
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

QUALIFICATIONS
- Current experience in logistics or warehouse work
- Previous experience working in the Swedish Armed Forces
- Military work permits
- Forklift license
- Current experience in administrative work
- Current experience in service work
OTHER
Employment Type: According to agreement for GSS/K. Fixed-term employment for up to eight years, with the possibility of extension. Can begin with a six-month probationary period.
Employment Level: Full-time
Working Hours: Mainly daytime, evening and weekend duty may occur during operations, activities, or upon need.
