Responsibilities
Your main task is to challenge students in their learning and support their knowledge development towards set goals, together with colleagues in the work team. In addition to planning, conducting, and evaluating teaching, you will, together with colleagues in the work team, work on developing teaching based on prioritized development areas and the unit's improvement work. You will work closely with teachers, EHT (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and the principal, and be responsible for driving the unit's joint analysis work forward in various contexts.
At Stenhammar School, we focus on early interventions, where special needs teachers, together with class teachers, have a major responsibility for planning and designing teaching so that it benefits all students from the start. For a couple of years now, we have been working on implementing the RTI model (Response to Intervention) to systematically analyze how teaching meets students' needs and what interventions are required. In this work, the competence of special needs teachers is of great importance for further development.
Who are you?
You are a certified special needs teacher, preferably with a focus on mathematics. Your ability to create good, trusting relationships with both students and staff and guardians is a prerequisite. You have the ability to lead both student groups and colleagues to develop teaching and the unit.
You have the ability to motivate and create situations that contribute to meaningful learning. You design activities and situations that promote and develop students' motivation, endurance, and attention. You have the ability to see and meet each student, base your approach on what works, and offer broad guidance and stimulation in teaching.
You see opportunities in cross-curricular work in collaboration with others. Collegial learning is a natural part of your work. You reflect on and analyze your teaching as a natural part of your practice. You are highly engaged in the school's overall development work and are driven by supporting teachers in improvement work.
You are communicative, creative, and open to thinking new thoughts and trying new ways of working together with others.
