Do you want to work in a city where ideas quickly become reality and where you see the results of your work? In Sundbyberg, it is close between people, decisions, and opportunities. Here, you get to influence for real, while developing and growing in your role.
You aim high. And keep your feet on the ground. Just like us.
Do you want to drive the digital everyday life in one of Sweden's fastest-growing municipalities? Are you looking for a role where you can combine coaching leadership with solving technical challenges in the front line? Then you might be the Team Leader we are looking for at Sundbyberg Municipality!
Here at the IT Department, we are responsible for, among other things, support and operation of the city's IT environment. You will become an important part of the work to ensure that the city's operations have a functioning and stable IT environment. Through your work, you contribute to the city's employees being able to perform their duties for residents, students, and users. The IT Department is part of the Development and Business Department, within the Sector for Leadership and Coordination, and works closely with colleagues and operations throughout the organization.
As Team Leader for the Service Desk, you have a unique hybrid role. Approximately 20–30% of your time is dedicated to functional coaching leadership for the support team, where you structure, prioritize, and develop the daily work. The remaining 70–80% of your time, you work operationally together with your colleagues in the Service Desk to provide IT support in everyday life via phone, remote control, or on-site at the city's various operations.
Since the role involves close functional leadership and much direct contact with our users, the position requires you to be on-site in our premises to a large extent, although some remote work may occur when tasks allow. You report directly to the IT Operations Manager.
Examples of responsibilities:
- Lead, distribute, and follow up on the daily work in the support team to ensure high quality and that we maintain our service levels.
- Provide technical support on-site at our Service Desk, via phone, case management system, and remote control, as well as solve problems on-site at the operations. You help users with everything from computers, phones, applications, and accounts to more complex troubleshooting.
- Install and configure clients and mobile devices. Work actively with user administration in, for example, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Work in close collaboration with the city's system technicians and system administrators to escalate cases correctly, secure operations, and contribute to smooth handovers.
- Create order and structure in our way of working, document cases, and ensure efficient and uniform routines within the team.
- Follow up on statistics/KPIs and drive and participate in smaller local IT projects and improvement initiatives to develop our Service Desk and delivery capability.
We want you to have
- At least upper secondary education with an IT focus or equivalent knowledge assessed by the employer as equivalent.
- Many years of current experience in operational work within IT support or Service Desk.
- Experience in coordinating, leading teams, or distributing work (preferably as a team lead, group leader, or similar).
- Good knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365, as well as experience working structured based on case management systems.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
To succeed in the role, we are looking for you who are service-oriented, curious, and solution-focused. You are a secure and unpretentious team player who enjoys collaborating with different competencies, but who also has the ability to create structure and take responsibility for following up on cases. You are motivated by learning more, developing within IT, and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces both within the IT Department and out in the operations. We place great importance on your personal qualities!
Sundbyberg Municipality is a modern and forward-looking workplace where digitalization and innovation are important. We offer a dynamic work environment where you have the opportunity to influence and develop both IT and the operations as a whole. We invest in our employees and offer good opportunities for personal development and strong team spirit.
