Do you want to work in a city where ideas quickly become reality and where you see the results of your work? In Sundbyberg, it is close between people, decisions, and opportunities. Here, you get to influence for real, while developing and growing in your role.
You aim high. And keep your feet on the ground. Just like us.
Do you want to drive the digital everyday life in one of Sweden's fastest-growing municipalities? Are you looking for a role where you get to solve exciting technical challenges in the front line and provide world-class service? Then you could be the IT Support Technician we are looking for at Sundbyberg Municipality!
Here at the IT Department, we are responsible for, among other things, support and operation of the city's IT environment. You will become part of the work to ensure that the city's operations have a functioning and stable IT environment. Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that the city's employees can carry out their mission for residents, students, and users. The IT Department is part of the Development and Business Department, within the Leadership and Coordination Sector, and works closely with colleagues and operations throughout the organization.
In the role of IT Support Technician, you work entirely operationally together with your colleagues. Your work takes place in our service desk, via phone, remote control, and on-site at the city's various operations. You are part of a team led on a daily basis by a team leader.
Since the role involves a lot of direct contact with our users, both in our service desk and on-site at the operations, the position requires you to be present in our premises to a large extent, although some remote work may occur when the tasks allow. You report directly to the IT Operations Manager.
Examples of responsibilities:
- Provide technical support on-site in our service desk, via phone, case management system, and remote control, as well as solving problems on-site at the operations. You help users with everything from computers, phones, applications, and accounts to more complex troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, and deploy clients as well as mobile devices. Work actively with user administration in, for example, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Work in close collaboration with the team, team leader, as well as the city's system technicians and system administrators to escalate cases correctly, secure operations, and contribute to smooth handovers.
- Contribute to order and structure in our joint way of working by carefully documenting cases and following the team's established routines.
- Participate actively in the team's meetings and contribute ideas to smaller local improvement initiatives to develop our Service Desk.
We want you to have
- At least upper secondary education with an IT focus or equivalent knowledge that the employer considers equivalent.
- Experience of operational work within IT support or service desk.
- Good knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365, as well as experience of working structured based on case management systems.
- Ability to understand the business's needs and convert them into practical technical help.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
To succeed in the role, you are service-oriented, curious, and solution-focused. You are a secure and non-hierarchical team player who thrives on collaborating with different competencies, but who also has the ability to work independently and take personal responsibility for following up on your cases. You are motivated by learning more, developing within IT, and thriving in a role with many contact surfaces both within the IT Department and out in the operations. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Sundbyberg Municipality is a modern and forward-looking workplace where digitalization and innovation are important. We offer a dynamic work environment where you have the opportunity to influence and develop both IT and the operations as a whole. We invest in our employees and offer good opportunities for personal development and strong team spirit in an engaged team.
