Combitech in Stockholm is looking for a Configuration Manager (CM) with experience in both software and hardware for a project with one of our defense-oriented clients. Here you will have a key role in technically complex projects where structure, traceability, and quality are crucial for success. In this role, you combine technical understanding with leadership and coordination, actively contributing to strengthening and developing configuration management in both projects and the organization.

Your Role as Configuration Manager

As a Configuration Manager, you are responsible for configuration management (CM) throughout the entire project lifecycle – from the offer and initiation phases to delivery and maintenance. You develop, establish, and manage CM plans that form a central part of project governance, ensuring that decided processes, routines, and tools are followed.

The role is varied and adapted to the maturity level of the projects. In newly started projects, you establish working methods for documentation, version control, and change management, creating a stable foundation for the project's continued work.

In more mature projects, you drive operational CM work, which includes building and managing product structures together with technical experts, organizing and leading Change Control Boards (CCB), ensuring that product and system configurations are correctly defined, updated, and documented at agreed delivery points, and following up that governing documents and processes are adhered to.

You participate in change management forums, contribute to technical reviews, and keep project and program management informed on a regular basis. An important part of the role is also to highlight and strengthen CM capabilities in the projects and contribute to method development and improvement of working methods and development processes.

The projects are unique customer deliveries, meaning each project has its own structure and working methods based on the end customer's requirements. The common denominator in all CM work is a focus on risk management, traceability, and delivering consistent and predictable quality to the end customer.

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who have several years of experience in configuration management (CM), either at a strategic level where you have established CM processes in new projects or organizations, or at an operational level with responsibility for version control, change management, and product structures in ongoing projects. Since the products maintain a very high technical level, experience with software and/or electronics is a great advantage.

We would prefer that you have experience in arranging and leading Change Control Board meetings and have the ability to quickly create a holistic view of development processes in larger organizations. You are comfortable building and maintaining a network with project managers, technical specialists, and other stakeholders, and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, orally and in writing.

Experience with tools such as Jenkins, IFS, or Doors is meritorious but not a requirement.

As the position involves work covered by defense secrecy, you must undergo and pass a security clearance with register check.
