Head of Production Systems – Shaping Future Business-Centric IT at Keolis

Keolis is in a phase where digitalization, data, AI, and increasing demands for business-centric IT make the role of Head of Production Systems particularly important. This is a key role for you who want to lead close to both the technology and the business operations – and who thrive on creating structure, direction, and momentum in a complex environment where IT truly makes a difference.

Here, leadership is not about being the foremost technical specialist, but about delivering solutions that contribute to long-term value for Keolis by understanding the big picture, setting a plan, and getting an experienced team, the business, and external partners to pull in the same direction.

Why you will thrive with us

You will thrive in this role if you want an IT leadership position where influence, collaboration, and execution power are at the center. Production Systems are a vital part of Keolis IT delivery and have a clear link to operational activities. This means your priorities, decisions, and working methods have a concrete impact.

You lead an experienced and largely self-managing team. Your task is to create direction, build trust, clarify goals, and give the team the right conditions to achieve results – without micromanaging.

At the same time, you become part of a business where IT's importance is growing. Digitalization, cloud, AI, and new technical solutions will increasingly impact public transport. In this role, you will help translate opportunities into practical utility, balancing development, stable operations, economics, and business needs.

Your assignment

As Head of Production Systems, you are responsible for creating a planned, structured, cost-effective, and long-term IT delivery that meets business needs. You lead a team of 7 people responsible for delivering system support to Keolis' operational activities.

An important part of the assignment is to plan and estimate IT deliveries from a holistic perspective – from technology, time, and resources to competencies, costs, suppliers, and contracts. You need to understand technical possibilities and limitations, but above all, be able to translate them into decisions that create value for the business.

You also become a crucial bridge between IT, internal business functions, managers, transport authorities, and IT suppliers. The role therefore requires both technical understanding, business acumen, and strong relationship skills.

Your main challenges

In the role, you will primarily work with:

  • creating structure, planning, and long-term focus in IT delivery
  • building collaboration between IT, business, transport authorities, and suppliers
  • balancing short-term business needs with long-term technical choices
  • ensuring deliveries are planned based on technology, time, resources, costs, and contracts
  • leading an experienced team towards clear goals, motivation, and results

Who we think you are

We believe you are a confident and clear leader who likes to create order in complex environments. You have a strong holistic perspective and understand how business processes connect with IT processes.

You do not need to be the most technical person in the room, but you have solid experience working with the development and management of applications. You understand what it takes to lead an application team, create structure in the system landscape, and ensure that both standard systems and custom-developed solutions are developed and managed in a way that creates value for the business.

As a leader, you build trust, give freedom under responsibility, and create clear goals. You are used to prioritizing, driving forward, and creating results in collaboration with others.

We would like you to have

  • relevant academic or post-secondary education, such as engineer, systems scientist, or equivalent
  • approximately 10 years of experience in system, application, or technology deliveries, preferably in business-critical environments
  • at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role, such as manager, project manager, or equivalent
  • experience leading or working closely with application teams responsible for development and management
  • experience with systems and applications, preferably standard systems like ERP
  • experience with systems linked to planning, transport, production, maintenance, or similar business-centric areas
  • experience with both standard and custom-developed systems, as well as understanding of SaaS solutions and on-premise environments
  • experience in supplier management, contract work, and negotiation
  • experience in planning IT deliveries based on technology, time, resources, competencies, costs, and contracts
  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
  • good knowledge of the Office package

It is particularly interesting if you have experience from industries with complex operations, such as transport, logistics, vehicles, industry, production, or similar. Knowledge of French is an advantage.

Why this role stands out

This is a role for you who want more than a traditional IT manager assignment. You get a clear mandate to create structure, prioritize, and drive change in a business where IT has direct significance for daily delivery.

You get to combine leadership, technology, budget responsibility, supplier management, and business-centric development – in a socially important organization where digitalization and new technical possibilities become increasingly important. For the right person, this is an opportunity to leave a long-term mark on the team, IT delivery, and the development of future public transport.

Location

The role is based at our headquarters on Kungsholmen in Stockholm. We work hybrid and expect you as a leader to be on-site at least three days a week. Some travel within Sweden is included but can be planned with good notice. Some international travel may also occur if needed.

Application

You apply by sending your CV. A cover letter is not required. We use work psychological tests in the selection process. The position may be filled before the application period ends. Note that the position is subject to a background check conducted in the final stage of the recruitment process after your approval.

Contact

For questions about the recruitment process, please contact Charlotte Johansson, who is responsible for this recruitment, [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]). Charlotte is on vacation until July 27th and will answer questions as soon as she returns.
