About the role

As an IT Operations Technician, you are responsible for monitoring the IT environment, handling incidents, and taking prompt action when deviations occur. The role is a vital part of Svenska Kraftnät's IT Operations Center, where work is conducted around the clock to ensure high availability in a society-critical operation.

You combine incident management, troubleshooting, and monitoring in a complex IT environment. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues within the operations center, as well as internal specialists and external suppliers, to ensure stable IT delivery.

Your main responsibilities

  • Receive incidents and register cases in the case management system
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Restore services according to established procedures in Windows, Linux, and network environments
  • Escalate incidents to the appropriate specialist function and follow up on cases
  • Monitor the IT environment through monitoring of systems, flows, and alarms
  • Work according to ITIL processes and contribute to the development and improvement of methods and routines

You report to the Unit Manager for IT Monitoring.

You will become part of the IT Operations Center, a unit of ten operations technicians who together are responsible for monitoring and incident management around the clock. The IT division is in an expansive phase with major investments in digitalization and development, providing good opportunities to develop together with experienced colleagues and work with modern technology.

The position involves work according to a rolling two-shift schedule (24/7) with 12-hour shifts, both day and night shifts. The work is performed on-site at Svenska Kraftnät's premises in Sundbyberg.

About you

We are looking for you who thrive in a role where problem-solving, structure, and collaboration are in focus. You have the ability to quickly analyze situations, prioritize correctly, and remain calm even when the pace is high, and you have previous experience in IT operations.

Requirements

Furthermore, you have a relevant education in IT, systems science, or equivalent competence as assessed by Svenska Kraftnät.

You also have:

  • At least two years of current and relevant experience in first or second-line IT support
  • Current and relevant experience in server operations in Windows and/or Linux environments
  • Experience in troubleshooting and incident management
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

Merits:

  • Experience with ITIL processes, such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Request
  • Experience with monitoring and alarm handling from, for example, a NOC or operations monitoring function
  • Experience working in business-critical IT environments where high availability and operational security are crucial, such as in energy, telecom, or finance

  • The position is located in Stockholm/Sundbyberg (right next to Sundbyberg station).
  • The work is performed on-site.
  • The position involves a rolling two-shift schedule (24/7) with day and night shifts.
