Section/Unit Mission

The section is responsible for the development and maintenance of digital services for the independent actors of the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen). Through user-centered development and close collaboration with the business, we create solutions that simplify administration, support correct processes, and help more people get closer to work and education.

About the Role

As a Senior Tester, you will become a central part of the team's quality work. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and the business to ensure that we build the right things in the right way.

You participate early in the process by contributing to clear and testable requirements, identifying risks, and helping the team focus on what is most important to ensure quality. You design test scenarios based on user needs and use exploratory testing where it adds the most value.

The role also involves contributing to the team's work on test strategy, testability, and quality assurance. You help create the conditions for quality throughout the entire development process, not just when a solution is fully developed.

How We Work with Quality

We see quality as a natural part of development, not as a separate activity at the end of a project. Testing is continuous, and developers are responsible for automated tests close to the code. As a tester, you contribute with test design, risk analysis, and a holistic perspective on quality.

Automation is used where it is effective, and manual testing is focused on areas where human judgment, exploratory testing, and business understanding create the most value.

Test Automation

You do not need to be the one writing all the test code, but we appreciate that you have an understanding of test automation and how automated tests can contribute to rapid feedback and high quality.

You collaborate with developers on test strategy, identify which scenarios are suitable for automation, and help the team find the right balance between automated and manual testing. Experience with test automation is meritorious, but the most important thing is that you have a strong focus on quality and a willingness to contribute to the team's joint delivery.

Our Offer

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The location is Solna.

Basic Requirements for the Position

• At least five years of experience in testing and quality assurance within system development.
• Experience in driving or developing working methods within quality assurance and testing.
• Experience in test design, risk analysis, and exploratory testing.
• Experience working in agile development teams and understanding of how agile working methods contribute to quality and continuous improvement.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

Other Merits for the Position

• Experience with test automation.
• Experience with API testing.
• Experience with accessibility and usability testing.
• Certification in the testing field, e.g., ISTQB.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
