Government Lawyer at the Swedish Board for Public Procurement (Kommerskollegium)

The Swedish Board for Public Procurement (Kommerskollegium) is Sweden's authority for foreign trade, the EU internal market, and trade policy. We work, among other things, with the EU's free trade agreements, Swedish companies' opportunities to import and export, and trade-related development cooperation. At Kommerskollegium, you will find yourself in an international environment where major trade policy issues are mixed with concrete problem-solving for individual companies and individuals. Our vision is sustainable trade without barriers. We have approximately 110 employees, and our activity-based office is located centrally in Stockholm.

Kommerskollegium is a growing authority with several new tasks. Since the summer of 2025, we are also a contingency authority with sectoral responsibility for the foreign trade sector within the Swedish civil defense.

Your Role

As part of the administrative unit, you will have a central function for the operations. The unit consists of approximately 15 employees who work with operational and strategic support in areas such as IT, registry, archives, HR, finance, procurement, office and property administration, legal affairs, as well as security and contingency planning.

Meet some of Kommerskollegium's employees who tell you what it is like to work here. (https://www.kommerskollegium.se/om-oss/jobba-hos-oss/mot-vara-medarbetare/)

Responsibilities

We are looking for a government lawyer who, together with the Chief Legal Officer and other lawyers in the administrative unit, wants to take on government law of varying character. Examples of tasks include:

  • Disclosure of public documents.
  • Legal cross-authority issues.
  • Work with steering documents.
  • Data protection issues (GDPR).
  • Issues regarding procurement and state aid.

You will be involved in both support and substantive operations where both national and international legislation is applied – a role with an important function. The position also includes developing and conducting training for the authority's employees, for example regarding the principle of public access to information.

You will also contribute to the authority's collective work with operational security, security protection, signals security, and contingency issues of varying character.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a Master of Laws degree (Jur. Cand.) and extensive experience with government legal issues within public administration. It is meritorious if you are a notary-qualified lawyer, as well as if you have worked with EU law or other international law. Experience working with security protection and signals security issues will be particularly valued.

You are appreciated for your collaborative approach and you have pedagogical skills. You find solutions, take initiative, and drive your issues forward successfully, both independently and together with others from a business perspective.

Other Information

The position is classified for security clearance and requires Swedish citizenship. A security investigation with background check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
