The Swedish Parliament Administration is an agency tasked with facilitating the work of the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament). Approximately 750 politically neutral employees work at the Swedish Parliament Administration, handling a wide variety of tasks.
Do you want to make a difference in the daily lives of the Swedish Riksdag and its members? Do you have a knack for explaining complex issues in an understandable way? Are you passionate about developmental leadership where you lead and motivate your staff? We are now looking for a manager who wants to work close to the center of democracy – dealing with matters regarding the remuneration of Riksdag members, such as fees, allowances, retirement benefits, and travel expenses. The unit is central to providing members with the best possible support and conditions to carry out their parliamentary duties.
Your role also includes coordinating and supporting the Riksdag's agencies and committees.
Your Responsibilities
You lead the unit's work and are the manager for nine dedicated employees. As a manager, you are responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with regulations and efficiently. You have overall responsibility for the unit's personnel, operations, budget, and results. The unit's budget for 2026 amounts to over 770 million SEK.
You have regular contact with members, employees at the Riksdag's party secretariats, and colleagues within the administration. Additionally, contacts with other agencies, mass media, and the general public are common.
You report to the Head of the Administrative Division and are part of the division's management group together with the HR Manager, Financial Manager, and Chief Legal Counsel. Together with your colleagues in the management group, you contribute to a good collaborative climate and a holistic view that promotes operational development and goal achievement for both the division and the agency as a whole.
Your Qualifications
You should have the following qualifications:
- University education, preferably with a legal focus
- Current experience in leading others
- Confidence in a leadership role
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Several years of experience in qualified work within a state agency.
It is also meritorious if you have good knowledge of the regulations regarding public access and secrecy, as well as legislative work, and experience in leading change and development work in a knowledge-based organization.
As a manager within the Swedish Parliament Administration, you should have an overview and be able to understand the big picture, act from an employer's perspective, stimulate employees to participate and develop, and set realistic goals that can be achieved within given frameworks. Great importance will be placed on your personal qualities, especially your ability to collaborate and communicate.
As a person, you are confident in your competence and possess good self-awareness. You are stable, show good judgment, and maintain a well-balanced mix of openness and integrity. Furthermore, you are a confident leader with the ability to delegate and lead operations with trust in your employees. You contribute to a culture that promotes continuous learning and work with constant improvements.
The Swedish Parliament Administration applies time-limited managerial appointments.
Employee engagement is important to us. Working with us means you are expected to act in accordance with our view of employee engagement: achieving results, developing, and collaborating.
The position is classified for security purposes, which in this case requires Swedish citizenship and a passed security clearance. We welcome applicants with different experiences and backgrounds.
