Do you want to work with qualified assessments of banks' credit risk management and contribute to a stable financial system? Do you have experience in credit risk, risk models, or supervision, and thrive in a role where analysis, professional judgment, and dialogue are central? Then this might be the job for you.

About the job

As a model expert in the Financial Risks department, you will work with the review and assessment of banks' internal credit risk models (IRB models), which form a central part of banks' risk measurement and capital requirement calculations.

The role combines an understanding of credit risk models with qualified assessments of governance, processes, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

The work covers both licensing procedures and supervision. You analyze complex issues, identify risks and vulnerabilities, and assess how these affect the banks' risk management, capital coverage, and risk profile. The work involves compiling analyses, formulating assessments, and contributing to decision-making foundations that underpin the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority's (FI) supervisory and licensing decisions.

An important part of the role is to conduct qualified dialogue with banks regarding the FI's assessments, requirements, and expectations. You are expected to contribute to the development of the FI's assessment methods and perspectives in this area.

The role also involves coordination and cooperation with international organizations such as the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Banking Authority (EBA) to contribute to harmonized European supervision. You may participate in international working groups and collaborate with other supervisory authorities on issues concerning credit risk models, regulatory development, and supervisory practices.

As an experienced colleague, you play an important role in the group's development by sharing your knowledge, supporting colleagues in complex assessments, and contributing to an open and professional exchange of knowledge.

Your education and experience

We are looking for someone who

  • has a good understanding of how banks use risk models for governance, risk measurement, and capital requirements
  • expresses themselves well in both Swedish and English, orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you

  • have experience with capital adequacy regulations
  • have experience working with IRB models
  • have experience in supervision, internal audit, risk control, model validation, or other auditing activities
  • have experience in international cooperation within financial regulation or supervision.

About you

In this job, you need to

  • have strong analytical skills and be able to solve complex tasks
  • communicate clearly with different target groups
  • look ahead and plan your work based on long-term goals.
