Do you want to play a key role in the work with explosive materials (IFTEX) and regulatory compliance in the Swedish Armed Forces? We are looking for an overarching IFTEX coordinator for the Defence Staff Support Unit, Business and Supply Management Division (FST STÖD AFL). FST STÖD AFL creates the prerequisites for meeting the Swedish Armed Forces' needs for contracts with external suppliers, customers, and service products. The purpose is to ensure robust supply at all levels of conflict through good business practices and long-term partnerships.
The overarching IFTEX coordinator takes collective responsibility for governance, legal monitoring, and regulatory compliance. The overarching IFTEX coordinator provides clear support for operations throughout the organization.
Who are we?
In the new Business and Supply Management of the Defence Staff Support, we ensure the supply of the Swedish Armed Forces and the dimensioning of logistics as an ally in NATO at the military strategic level. Currently, we have broad competence from both the military and civilian sectors.
We are to contribute to enabling our national responsibility in international cooperation and within the NATO alliance. Sweden's new role is, among other things, to be a basing and transit country, and since joining the alliance, we have entirely new flows and volumes to manage.
In the long term, we envision that within the section, we will have a breadth of strategic competencies within supply chain management, where each person leads change and projects for a group of supplies. Currently, we are seeking competencies for ammunition, fuel, food, and materiel.
Main Responsibilities
As the overarching IFTEX coordinator, you work at a strategic and organization-wide level with governance, regulatory compliance, and legal monitoring regarding explosive materials. You set the frameworks within which the Military Forces and the Armed Forces are to operate, and you support and set requirements further down in the organization.
- Coordinate, follow up, and report on the systematic work with explosive materials within both the Swedish Armed Forces and in dialogue with the permitting authority (MCF).
- Provide overarching direction at the central level for explosive materials (IFTEX), including governance, regulatory compliance, and legal monitoring. Work for continuous improvements in the area.
- Develop guidelines and frameworks that the Military Forces and the Armed Forces are to adhere to and work within.
- Support and set requirements for permit holders and other stakeholders in the organization.
- Be responsible for content and policy in the organization-wide working method/business management system.
- Monitor and interpret relevant legislation and ensure it is implemented in practical guidelines.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Completed upper secondary education
- Current and relevant experience working with explosive materials (IFTEX)
- Knowledge and experience in regulatory compliance work regarding LBE (the Act on Flammable and Explosive Materials)
- Current and relevant experience in developing governing documents, guidelines, and policies
- Current and relevant experience in coordinating, supporting, and setting requirements across organizational boundaries
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English – both spoken and written
Personal Attributes
As a person, you are structured, self-reliant, and accustomed to driving issues forward with a holistic perspective. You have good collaboration skills and feel confident in dialogue with various roles within the operation, from specialists to managers. Through your clear communication and ability to build good relationships, you contribute to efficient collaboration and good results.

Other Information
Employment type: Civil position, permanent employment. If you are not currently permanently employed in the Swedish Armed Forces, a 6-month probationary period applies.
Workload: Full-time
Work location: The division is located in Stockholm. The place of duty can be discussed, and placement is possible where the Swedish Armed Forces have unit operations, primarily garrison locations. The position involves travel both within and outside Sweden.
Start date: By agreement

The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' Staff Division and independent units for supervision. Employment with us implies placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required.
