Do you want to take on a key role where your expertise in timber directly impacts profitability and production efficiency? At OBOS in Myresjö, we are looking for an analytical Timber Manager who wants to drive the development of the production's material supply in a modern manufacturing environment.
About the role
OBOS is one of Sweden's leading housing developers, and we are currently making a massive investment in building the future's state-of-the-art and highly automated timber house factory. By combining industrial construction with new automation technology, OBOS is revolutionizing its production capacity, improving the working environment, and reducing its climate impact. Timber is the company's heaviest material item, and this is where you will play a crucial role. As the Timber Manager on the Technology and Production Department, you will act as the link between suppliers and production to ensure an optimal material flow. You will work proactively with forecasts and analysis to guarantee that the right timber quality is delivered on time to OBOS manufacturing. The role involves significant responsibility for the company's heaviest material item and requires a balance between strategic purchasing work and guiding production staff regarding material and timber quality.

Responsibilities
The role combines strategic material planning with operational purchasing, where you are responsible for streamlining the flow and storage areas for our most important material. Your tasks are varied but will include among other things:
- Streamline, structure, and optimize storage areas and material flows to increase utilization rates and reduce the disposal of purchased timber.
- Develop and maintain forecasts to secure material supply.
- Participate in tenders and timber negotiations to secure efficient processes.
- Handle complaints and maintain a continuous quality dialogue with suppliers.
- Maintain item registers and ensure correct information in the ERP system (AX).
- Analyze material shortages and implement improvement work in the department's work processes.
We are looking for you who
- Have a university college degree in logistics, construction, or equivalent – or alternatively, a high school education supplemented by extensive and relevant work experience in the field.
- Have very good knowledge and experience of timber, preferably with acquired knowledge of EN standards for wood.
- Have experience in a similar role as a senior buyer, material planner, or logistician where you have successfully handled warehousing and flows.
- Have basic knowledge of ERP systems and logistics planning tools.
- Have good analytical skills with experience in forecasting.
- Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
It is an advantage if you have
- Post-secondary education in logistics, building technology, or the forestry industry.
- Worked with timber purchasing or material planning within relevant industry.
