About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will become part of a development team working with petrol-powered chainsaws and associated engine components. The team is responsible for both product maintenance and new development, meaning you will work on technical improvements of existing products as well as the development of new solutions. There is a close link between design, laboratory operations, testing, requirement setting, and the product's actual function.

The organization is currently in a transformation phase where new roles, ways of working, and decision-making paths are being shaped. The focus is on working more efficiently, making more decisions close to the operations, and creating closer collaboration between different functions. You will become part of a team with a good mix of junior and senior colleagues, where you will have the opportunity to both contribute your experience and continue to develop.

In the role, you will work with mechanical design and product development in a technically advanced environment. You will be involved in the development of robust, geometrically secured, and sustainable designs where mechanics, function, requirements, and the overall product need to interact. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, designers, lead engineers, platform leads, R&D, and other surrounding functions.

Responsibilities:

• Work with mechanical design and product development of complex products and components
• Contribute to product maintenance, improvement work, and new development
• Create and further develop design solutions in CATIA
• Work with geometry, interfaces, robust design, and the overall function of the product
• Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, labs, testing, and other technical functions
• Drive technical issues forward in a structured and solution-oriented manner
• Break down complex problems into smaller parts and turn them into concrete activities
• Contribute to the development of working methods, collaboration forms, and shorter decision paths
• Gradually take on greater technical responsibility related to the overall product, interfaces, and long-term development

We are looking for someone who:

• Has several years of experience in mechanical design and product development
• Has good knowledge of CATIA
• Understands geometric securing, robust design, and interfaces between different parts of a product
• Has experience working systematically with technical problems and design solutions
• Has the ability to see both details and the overall picture in a product
• Is accustomed to collaborating with several different functions, such as R&D, testing, project management, production, or labs
• Has good knowledge of Swedish and English, as both languages are used in collaboration with internal contacts

It is not necessary, but meritorious if you have:

• Experience in taking cohesive technical responsibility within design or product development
• Experience from complex products with high technical requirements and many interfaces
• Previously worked as a senior designer, technical sub-project manager, lead engineer, or in a similar role
