The Property Department is part of the University Administration at Stockholm University and has overall responsibility for the university's premises and housing, as well as associated services. Approximately 80 employees work at the department on issues concerning, among other things, premises and housing supply, security, physical work environment, and service functions such as cleaning, mail and goods handling, conference coordination, central exam service, and a service center.

The department is organized into two sections and four groups directly subordinate to the Head of Property. The Administrative Office is one of these groups, tasked with supporting the department's work with financial reporting, follow-up, personnel matters, and communication.

The Administrative Office is now seeking a temporary Accountant with good knowledge of accounting. Here, you will have a broad and varied economic role with great insight into the university's operations. You will become part of an engaged work group where collaboration, development, and quality are in focus.

Responsibilities

As an Accountant at the Property Department, you play a central role in ensuring that the department's accounting flows are handled correctly and within given timeframes. You work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues across all assignments within the department.

The assignment is stimulating and characterized by a wide range of economic tasks. Your main responsibilities include:

• Ongoing invoice management and accounting issues.
• Internal billing and invoicing.
• Compilations, analyses, and accruals in connection with year-end closing.
• Budgeting, forecasts, and quarterly follow-ups in close dialogue with controllers.
• Preparing supporting documents, compilations, and simpler analyses.
• Ensuring that accounting is conducted according to current regulations and internal routines.
• Providing support and service to the operations regarding economic matters.
• Developing processes and routines related to economic flows and systems, with the aim of increasing efficiency and ensuring high quality.

We also welcome your contribution to developing and streamlining our economic processes and working methods.

Other tasks within the department's economic area may also occur. You report to the Head of Administration and work closely with controllers, other accountants, managers, and several other functions within the department. The role offers good opportunities to develop your knowledge in accounting and economic administration in a complex and socially important operation.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of Accountant, we see that you have:

• An academic degree in economics, or alternatively other post-secondary education in economics that the employer deems equivalent.
• Some experience in economic administrative work, for example within accounting, invoice management, or economic follow-up, or experience deemed equivalent.
• Experience in service and very good collaboration skills.
• A strong interest in economics and a willingness to familiarize yourself with the operations.
• Good ability and interest in quickly familiarizing yourself with new systems.
• Good knowledge of Excel and the ability to use the program for compilations, follow-ups, and reporting.
• Very good ability to communicate and build trust-based relationships.
• Very good ability to express yourself professionally in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.

We welcome both those who are at the beginning of their career and those who have a few years of experience in economic work.

Meritorious

Experience of accounting within a government agency or other public operations is meritorious.

Personal qualities

To thrive in the role, you are structured and meticulous. You have good analytical skills and work independently while appreciating collaboration and contributing to a positive work climate. You are curious, focused on development, and contributing to the whole. You are service-oriented and have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in parallel.

The role involves many contact surfaces within the operations. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy collaborating, building relationships, and providing qualified support to managers and employees in economic matters.

About the Employment

The employment is full-time and is a temporary position until June 2027. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement, preferably as soon as possible.
