The Department of Law is one of the larger departments at Stockholm University, with approximately 150 employees and 5,500 students. Over 70 teachers are engaged full-time to teach and conduct the research upon which the education is based. Subject/Subject Description

General Property Law and Real Estate Law

Job Responsibilities

The position includes teaching and administration. Teaching accounts for 85% and administration for 15% of the working hours. The duties primarily involve teaching and examination in general property law and real estate law, as well as potentially supervising degree projects. The applicant should also be prepared to teach additional subjects on the law program, such as introductory law courses and family law.

Qualifications

Eligible for appointment is someone who has completed a relevant university degree or has equivalent competence and has demonstrated pedagogical skill.

All teaching appointments at Stockholm University presuppose that the applicant has the ability to collaborate and is otherwise suitable to perform the duties of the position.

The applicant must be able to teach and examine in Swedish.

Evaluation Criteria

Emphasis is placed on pedagogical skill and academic merits. Administrative ability and the ability to interact with the surrounding society are also valued. Other skills and experience relevant to the position and its duties are also considered merits. Experience and interest in the field of civil law are considered merits.

Higher education pedagogical training of at least 15 higher education credits or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways is meritorious.

Sufficient computer literacy to handle the various systems used in teaching is required.

About the Position

The position is full-time and fixed-term for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Start date October 1, 2026, or as agreed.

The appointment as Assistant Professor (Adjunkt) at Stockholm University does not offer promotion opportunities to higher-level academic positions.
