Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Stockholm is flourishing as the country's leading growth region. We work for a labor market where everyone can find their place – where employers find the right competence and where people get the opportunity to enter or return to working life. We support the residents' journey toward work or studies through labor market initiatives and adult education.

Welcome to us

We are 300 proud, engaged, and curious employees who open up new opportunities and make a difference for students every day. Every year, we deliver high-quality education to several thousand students. Our schools are currently located in the districts of Järva, Liljeholmen, Skärholmen, and Södermalm.

The Business Area Own Management is responsible for the city's own adult education centers (Komvux), Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), and university college programs, giving Stockholm residents the opportunity to study and participate in society and working life. Together, we meet the needs of both Stockholm residents and the working world!

We are currently in the midst of an expansion, and we are therefore looking for you with great commitment who wants to be part of our journey. We are now looking for several SFI and SVA teachers for evening courses at Komvux Liljeholmen.

What we offer

We are an organization in development and change where competence and collaboration are the foundation of our job satisfaction. We offer the opportunity to be part of developing a growing business.

Your role

As a teacher at Komvux Liljeholmen, you play an important role in building and developing a supportive learning environment for our students.

The core task of the position is to plan, implement, and follow up on your own teaching and to collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the entire school. You are responsible for monitoring and documenting the students' progress throughout the education and for assigning grades at the end of the course.

The role of SFI/SVA teacher with us involves varied work with the opportunity to develop and test new working methods. The school's course offering includes SFI within study path 2 and 3, as well as courses at the basic level. In the long term, the offering may broaden. This could involve more courses/study paths but also other language-developing initiatives in the form of commissioned education.

Evening teaching is included in the position, and weekend teaching may also become relevant.

Your competence and experience

Requirements for the position:

  • Certified teacher and qualified to teach SFI.
  • Experience in adult education and familiarity with meeting adult students and adapting teaching to their conditions and goals.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of relevant digital tools and confidence in using them. Experience in planning and conducting distance and remote teaching that supports student learning.

Merits:

  • Qualification to teach Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) at the basic level.
  • Several years of experience from SFI and/or basic SVA.
  • Qualification in more subjects at the basic and upper secondary level.

To thrive in the role, you are engaged and development-oriented. You are receptive and have good collaboration skills. As a person, you are goal-oriented and have the ability to structure and work towards results. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The positions will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made.

Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

At the Labor Market Administration, we apply individual and differentiated salary setting as well as other collective agreement-based principles according to the collective agreement Main Agreement (HÖK). You can read more about what these conditions mean on SKR's website, skr.se.

At the Labor Market Administration, we work to make it easy to develop by changing units and workplaces. This means that your employment is with the entire administration, and you may receive new assignments within other operations where your competence is needed most.
