Special Needs Pedagogue – We are looking for you!

Distra Gymnasium is a smaller upper secondary school located in Örnsberg. We rank at the top in Stockholm regarding satisfied students and teachers, according to the Swedish Schools Inspectorate's student and teacher surveys.

Here, our focus is on well-being and security, where everyone feels seen and heard. We have small teaching groups of approximately 15–24 students per group. This gives us greater opportunities to help each individual student reach their goals.

You should be curious and eager to meet students where they are in their development, as well as create the conditions for every student to succeed.

You should be accustomed to collaborating with and taking an active role in the school's student health team. In this team, you represent a crucial competence and a vital puzzle piece, working closely with the school counselor, social pedagogue, special education teacher, principals, and study and career counselor (SYV).

Your role will consist of supporting our teachers didactically and pedagogically, strengthening special needs pedagogical competence, and finding additional adaptations. You will also conduct pedagogical assessments regarding special support in collaboration with teachers and mentors.

In our vocational programs, most of our students have applied with a specific career goal in mind, and this is where your challenge lies: daring to challenge and support students in theoretical subjects. Among our students, you will find all types – those who need pure skills training and those who need stimulation and challenges.

Our students should feel safe and welcome in a creative and developmental learning environment.
