Job Description
We are looking for a class teacher and mentor for Year F (Pre-school Class) for the academic year 2026/2027.
Your duties include planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents. The focus is on language, reading, and writing development, mathematics, and core values.
As a mentor, you follow and support the students' knowledge-based and social development in close cooperation with the student, home, and other school staff. You adapt the teaching to the students' needs and prerequisites, with the goal that every student succeeds.
You motivate and inspire the students, see their strengths, and give constructive and positive feedback. You involve the students in the planning and develop their desire and ability to learn both independently and together with others – where safety in the group is a crucial factor.
You contribute actively to meetings, conferences, and collegial learning.
We are primarily looking for a teacher for the pre-school class, but the assignment may include teaching in all theoretical subjects and in all year groups.
The work involves many contact points with students, colleagues, and guardians.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have
- Experience teaching at the lower primary level and relevant teacher education.
- Documented mathematics skills.
- Experience/knowledge of teaching students with Swedish as a second language and of working with language development as well as with multilingual or bilingual students.
- Very good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as required by the assignment.
As a teacher at Snösätraskolan
- You are a clear, secure, and stable leader.
- You have the ability to create a safe and accessible learning environment for the students.
- You have the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
- You meet your surroundings with sensitivity, respect, and curiosity.
- You have relational leadership with good empathetic ability.
- You have the student in focus and work from the premise that the student will if they can, and work systematically to create conditions for all students to succeed.
- You plan and organize your teaching based on your students' prerequisites.
- You take responsibility for the students' results and are sensitive to each student's prerequisites and need for comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness.
- You have the ability to capture and stimulate the students' curiosity, interest, and learning.
Qualifying characteristics
- You are proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to take own initiatives as well as follow through and stand behind made decisions.
- You keep times and deadlines.
- You are flexible with good cooperation skills and contribute responsibly to development in collegial learning.
- You are engaged and bring energy and enthusiasm to the work.
- You are structured and systematic.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
