Folkuniversitetet in Stockholm offers open language courses. We continuously work to develop our course offerings and are looking for someone experienced in language teaching who can work with adult education in a circle format, a few hours per week – primarily in the evenings.

For the upcoming spring term, we are seeking a circle instructor in Russian. The position is primarily for physical classroom courses in the evenings, but distance education may also be included.

Responsibilities

• Teaching, preparation, planning, and follow-up work. Participate in development work as agreed upon.
• Quality assurance by reviewing expectations prior to the course and evaluations after its completion.
• Contact with participants between lessons related to course content, e.g., preparations or homework.

Qualifications

Circle instructors at Folkuniversitetet must have the following upon commencement:

• Good IT skills and experience with distance education.
• Pedagogical understanding or pedagogical experience.
• Subject matter expertise or professional experience in the field.
• Experience with and an active interest in adult pedagogy.

Your proficiency in the language of instruction should be equivalent to that of a native speaker, and we prefer candidates with a relevant academic degree. Desirable personal qualities include the ability and willingness to work both independently and in a team, strong social skills, good initiative, a positive attitude towards change and development, and an ethical approach.

The position requires good knowledge of Swedish or English.
