At Sundbyberg's central Child and Student Health Services, special educators, psychologists, counselors, school nurses, and school doctors work together. In the autumn of 2026, a change journey will begin where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and direction of health-promoting and preventive child and student health work, with the aim of promoting the development and learning of all children.

We are looking for three special educators to join our team. Two of the positions are primarily directed towards preschool operations, but you may also work with primary schools. One position is specifically directed towards primary school.

As a special educator, you will support preschools and schools in their health-promoting and preventive work to create an accessible learning environment and an equitable education for all children and students. You work on behalf of the principal based on the needs of the operations, and your manager is the Operations Manager for Child and Student Health.

Your responsibilities

  • Help develop and actively participate in preventive and supportive work.
  • Offer pedagogical supervision to staff in preschools and primary schools.
  • Conduct observations and contribute to interventions based on these.
  • Provide support in conducting pedagogical assessments at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
  • Identify, analyze, and participate in efforts to remove obstacles and causes of difficulties in teaching and learning environments.
  • Offer training initiatives to various professional groups in preschools and primary schools.
  • Participate in systematic child health work and attend child conferences in preschools, follow-up meetings with principals, and other relevant parties.

We want you to be a trained special educator with broad experience in supervising staff groups and conducting training within preschools and primary schools. You should have experience translating research and proven experiences into practice and feel confident in your role leading other adults in relation to the needs of children and students. Furthermore, you need experience working together with preschool or primary school leadership and student health services in your assignments. You are engaged, accustomed to taking initiative, and have an easy time collaborating with different professions. You also need to be flexible and interested in contributing to a change journey aimed at benefiting children's and students' development and learning. For work in primary schools, we want you to have good knowledge of digital and alternative learning tools, clarifying pedagogy, and language and knowledge-developing working methods.

It is meritorious if you have worked in similar overarching roles and in central child and student health services. We place great value on your knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), language and knowledge-developing working methods, and neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPF). If you have knowledge and experience in supervising staff regarding children with multiple disabilities in preschool work, this is also considered meritorious.

The position is a permanent full-time employment.

Start date: September 1, 2026, or by agreement.
